This is one of my favorite songs, I've been delaying recording it on BB because the old version is pretty good. The violin intro is BB, on a different file. This is fantastic! Your intro throw me for a curve, loved it! Your vocal, lyrics, backing tracks are spot on. Also thanx for putting the chords in your lyrics! This sounds like it came right out of the 60's, loved it!
This went straight into my keeper folder!

A new favorite from you for me. Enjoyed this a lot. It's a good song and easy to see how it can be a favorite of yours. Would have loved to compare it with the original to see how it progressed.

Hi Will. That came as a very pleasant surprise. A really great mix and as has been said the vocals sound like they are straight out of the 60s. I would also love to compare it to the original

Here is the original version, and as I listen now I think I prefer it. It's simplicity seems to work better than the new one. What do you think? https://soundcloud.com/willrockwell/between-t-lineswav

What I'm going to do is add a couple of BB overdubs to the original version and do a new mix. I'll get back to you.

I've listened to both now. I prefer the vocals from the first version but think the intro, drums and rhythm guitar of the latter version are better. The vocals of the first version sound even more authentic to 60's vibe than the second. You sang the second version much harder than the original. Both versions are really good and I'm looking forward to the remix.

Both versions are really good and I'm looking forward to the remix. that's exactly what I heard. Also, the second version is overproduced, unnecessary instrumentation. I just re-laid drums, bass and electric 12 string from BB onto the old track. It wasn't easy syncing the beginning. Also, I found a way to make my Ovation 12 sound like a Rickenbacker. That will be the only other overdub. I'll run my vocals through the autotune, then mix it.

I've deleted the new version and have gone back to work adding BB tracks to the original.

Here is the new mix. Strangely, I wound up using the drums from my Yamaha keyboard, they had more punch than the BB drums. https://soundcloud.com/willrockwell/between-the-lines

Sorry to be so quirky, I pulled this version and will do a remix with the BB drums, I'm sure I can make them sound better than the Yamaha drums.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
