When a dental student I studied the various" 'ologys" of medicine and thought then I'd be a smarty pants and write a song about love with each verse an " 'ology" and also make the words fit the said " 'ology".
Hmm Histology, haematology and cytology threw me so I just picked the ones that sounded "rock and roll".
I used a line from one of our drinking songs as the basis for the chorus and have sung my song so many times since that I forget most of that notorious song except it ended in a now totally non PC line. Well it was the early 1970's. blush grin

Love Pathology

there's a hole in my heart where you used to be
and the bubbling noise is not blood its just the tears welling up inside of me
ever since the day you left
I've bin so upset
I've got love pathology

I haven't slept a wink of sleep that's the broken hearted's affliction
I drink a lot to forget about love but I don't forget my desperation
ever since the day you went away
I've bin so upset
that's my love morphology

my eyes grow dim i cannot see, my ears are going deaf
I wonder where my baby is tonite
I drink a lot to fall asleep but still i get no rest
I wonder where my baby is tonite

time alone can heal a scar if I had time which I don't
my heart is beating faster just reducing the days of my life
my body is in such a mess oh
since you've bin gone
that's my love epidemiology

its better to have loved and lost than never to have lost at all
love is the wisdom of a fool but the folly of the wise
love is dieing, love is enough
but my love is only so long
that's my love anthology

my eyes are dim i cannot see
my ears are going deaf
i wonder where my baby is tonite
i drink a lot to fall asleep but still i get no rest
i wonder where my baby is tonite
i wonder where my baby is
wonder where my baby is tonite

I noticed that she did not offer up an apology. My hat is off to you for accomplishing your goal of ologys. I enjoyed waiting for the next verse to see where you would be going with it. Good job of bringing this all together.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

My favorite of a lot of clever lyrics!! Really creative, as usual where you are concerned Alyn. This was well done in all respects. I particularly liked the unusual key changes in the chorus/B-sections. A real treat!! Take care. Greg

Alyn, This has a really great chord structure and some great lyrics! I don't know how you pull off these verses with no rhymes but you've done it again. This is truly gibsonology. A super listen, much enjoyed. Tom

Alyn - your songs are like a box of Cracker Jacks. Dig into them anxiously because you always know there will be a surprise! A good one!

A delight, as always...

Alyn,

There is always a nice and surprising twist in the arrangement in the chorus of virtually every song you post. And that's always very refreshing and original! Adds lots of dynamics too.
The 961:Guitar Acoustic is very cool, don't think I heard it before.

Rob,
you gotta a good sense of humour also, as shown by your latest masterpiece.
I loved Bungalow Bill

I shall keep 'em coming, as I hope you do too

I would love to take credit for that line but I misquoted Alfred Lord Tennyson there. he wrote "Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" and I thought i'd put my take on it

I love those walking and strumming guitars what a GREAT sound that fits this song perfectly - that with the fun lyrics which I loved and the raw sincereness of the vocals together - gotta agree just awesome and fun. Whatever you got in the water over there send me some....
