Dan!

Good to see you over here on the "dark side" of the forum!...

So, where did all that come from.... the drums do not sound like RealDrums... the cymbal swells are nice... something a bit more subtle (one of the brush RealDrums maybe) would allow the guitar to take center stage... What piano are you using (EZ Studio Grand?)? I would add a little reverb to it to set it back some - again, to let the guitar be "the star"...

We can be quite welcoming over on this side... pull up a chair... set a spell... smile

Hi Dan

a really cool instrumental you've put together there.

I too wondered about the kit. RealDrums or RealPerson? !

Cheers
Trevor

Hi Dan,

I'm another one who enjoyed the listen. The drum opening also grabbed me!

Good to see you on this side of the forums smile

Thanks guys, this is unusual forum territory for me. However, I would like to visit and contribute more often in the future.

The drums are my first full attempt at using EZD2 exclusively. Of course we all love RD's but I wanted more control and more bang. I don't what the drums to just be backing. I want to hear them. I am happy with this first effort, but I do look forward to learning how to work them better.

The piano is a RT! I tried several Midi tracks with different VSTi (No EZKeys Studio Grand yet). But it just wasn't there.

I will keep trying because I am looking for more control which only midi will give. In the meantime the RT and RD sound better than anything I can accomplish with Midi. But that is where I am heading.

Oh, the guitar is me through the Line 6 FireHawk.

Nice instrumental. Looking forward to you visiting the User Forum and contributing more often too.

Like you, I plan to work more with midi this year so I'll be following along with you on your journey. I'm still working my way through integrating a Roland Integra 7 into my setup for my sounds to be as realistic as possible.

It's going to be another fun year, glad you may be joining us.

Nicely done!! I really like this kind of instrumental vibe. Reminds me of Bruce Cockburn. Very nice emotion in this. Enjoyed much! Happy New Year! Greg

You guy are way way too kind. But I do appreciate it. Your words encourage me to continue to dig deeper in the area of writing original material. Thanks much.

Those drums sound great! The choice of them
and the RT to complement your playing really
worked well. Look forward to hearing more.
Nice mix also!

Nice peaceful melody.

The drums sound good. Nice quality in the samples.

Piano sounds good....

Back in the day I did a number of songs of similar fashion. I was collabing at that time with a piano player and we did quite a few tunes that were piano and guitar based. That was a fun time in my musical development and song writing.

One nit: tune the guitar to the piano more precisely.

Good stuff there. Write and record more.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
