All feedback welcome!

The style I used in BIAB is: M_CTRJ65.STY (Country Ballad Piano Solo) - and I added the 2169 Guitar, Resonator, Soloist CountryRob Ev065 RealTrack for the guitar solo. The voice is recorded with Audacity.

Hope you like, but, again, ALL feedback very much welcome!

Final Kiss (on YouTube)

LYRICS:

I know now
You never were the one for me
I know now
How you needed to run free

And if I had
Tried to hold on to you some more
I would've stopped
Your flight above that needs to soar ...

Do you mind
That I was never quite the man you wanted me to be
Do you mind
The tears that I have running free,

Do you mind
If I write to you some music just like this
Will you find
The time for one last, final kiss?

Is there still
A chance for you and me to make it through?
Is it real
Or is it an illusion of the view?

I wish you well
Whatever you may do in life from now
I remain
Your humble, gentle servant as I go ...

Nice work on this one smile Really liked the groove, and the delivery of your spoken vocals here. It gives it a really unique quality. It is nicely catchy as well.

Great work, and thanks for sharing!

James… This is really a wonderful composition. I like all the aspects of it, and I think that it shows great command of the skills of composition. I would encourage you to find a vocalist to convert your spoken word into song because I think that this is what your work is shouting out for. I’m sure there is someone on our forum who would take on that challenge and take your work to new levels.

Thanks Tom for such wonderful words!

I'd love to work with a vocalist who would like to collaborate on tracks (whether already written or whether new stuff). The only problem is, I'm not a full time composer - I'm not even a full time musician right now. For reasons too complicated to mention, I'm doing other things right now and am only coming back to my real love (music) on an "as and when" basis ... i.e. whenever I'm free - so I guess I'm just a little nervous about it all, that's all. But I can always make time for music, and BIAB is a fantastic short-cut, time-wise and (of course) not only ... so yes, if someone would like to collaborate, that would be amazing!

The other thing is that I am completely and utterly skint at the moment, so I can't really pay a vocalist for their work, and I absolutely HATE to ask any musician to collaborate for free - we've all worked hard to get to whatever level we may be at right now, so ... . That said, IF the songs make any money at any stage, I'm only too happy to come to a fair arrangement for all as to profits!

These are my only concerns and caveats at the moment. If there's a vocalist out there, though, that doesn't mind collaborating on this basis ... well, that would be a blessing I don't dare hope for. If you or anyone else want to advise on this further, too, that's also (of course) totally great! Thanks again for such great support!

This is different, not really what I like in a song more of an inspirational/meditation type of song.

It was done nice, and easy listen sort of a way.

Hey musician17, fantastic choice of instrumentation on this. Excellent mixdown on all of this and I really dug the chord progression. Excellent guitar riffs too. Very captivating lyrics. Great work!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
