Hi everyone. I finally have got the courage up to start posting some of my music and I've set a goal for myself to write a new tune and post it here for every month of 2019. As it's practically July already there is some catching up to do. Here is January.

Band in a Box

Bass - 1174 Bass, Electric, PopCalypso
Piano - 1422 Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm PopCalypso
Drums - PopCalypso
Guitar 1 - 1175 Guitar, Acoustic, PopCalypso
Guitar 2 - 1177 Guitar, High-Strung Acoustic, Rhythm PopCalypso
Accordion - 1173 Accordion Rhythm PopCalypso

Main Vocal - Troy Schiewe (me)
Harmonies - Generated with BIAB

Each track generated and saved as a wave file and then mixed with Reaper.

So in Love With you
Words and Music by Troy Schiewe
Copyright 2019

Up all night thinking about what you said
Let me tell you it's rattling round my head
Don't even know what I have done
Only know you've got our love on the run

Pretty baby tell me where we went wrong
Hurry now before our love is gone
You say that everything had changed
Let me tell you my love for you is the same

I'm so in love with you
Don't know what it is I going to do
Got to get thru to you, I'm so in love with you

I know we can work it out
About our love I'm sure there is no doubt
If you could see into my heart
You'd know you've owned it from the start

I'm so in love with you
Don't know what it is I can do
Got to get thru to you, I'm so in love with you
I'm so in love with you, I'm so in love with you

Terrific song Troy...
It was a pleasure listening to your song...
But I find it hard to believe I'm the 1st one to comment...
However I don't recall seeing it yesterday...
So I apologize about not commenting sooner...
I'll be looking forward to hearing more of your compositions...
Welcome to the forum!

Very nicely done Troy!! Welcome to the forum!! This is a nice song....well written and well sung. The arrangement works well for the type of song...looks like you're catching on to using this wonderful software very quickly. I think the vocal may be a little over processed. Great work! Looking forward to hearing more!! Take care. Greg

Troy,

A really nice first post.

A very pleasant song. Good use of BIAB. The collection of instruments works well for the feel of the song. (You did not list a guitar solo RT...did you play that? Nice whatever it is...).

The vocal and harmonies are really well done. Well recorded. Perhaps very slightly louder than they need to be in the mix?? - and I mean VERY slightly - because overall this is a really good mix.

Enjoyed the listen.

Welcome to the Showcase...

Nice to "meet" you. This was a very well performed and easy to listen to song, mixed well and with a terrific use of the "band".

You did a really great job with this smile Some incredible harmonies and progressions here, and the instrumentation is top notch. A really crisp mix too - very professional sounding.

Looking forward to hearing the tunes for the remaining months - thanks for sharing!

Troy,

Very nicely done. The pop calypso feel is just right and you have a good voice - relaxed with lots of character( I agree with Floyd the volume could be tweaked down).
A fine song to begin your postings here!

Very nice tune for your introduction on this forum, welcome! You have selected a nice light pop band. I got some Roy Orbison vibes, I like the vocal processing.

Good listen - your vocals sound great, excellent mix, and the band sounds top-notch.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
