Here is a new song from Spirit Level who are Robert Cordrey, Scott(ScottC) and Ray(rayc). This song started as a rock shuffle that I was playing around with and sent the seq to Robert to see if he thought lyric and vocal would work with the backtrack. Robert made the necessary adjustments in the arrangement to work with his vocal and lyric. The seq was then set to Ray to add his bass track. Ray and I worked on the crunchy guitar rhythm tracks. I added fill to play underneath Roberts vocal and brought forward for the guitar break. SwoonRoberts Lyrics Swoon one line written like an epitaph on walls of the underground her laugh echoing in third class fall into desolation sound follow her down down down into her labyrinth follow the line she unwinds from her blue dress in that room everybody swoons could be your tomb everybody swoons her waist an upside down valentine blonde circuits blowing the car she sways you`re the nearest handy man subway turns to a ramshackle rickshaw follow her down down down into her labyrinth follow the line she unwinds from her blue dress in that room everybody swoons down in her catacombs everybody swoons welcome to her human museum maybe you`re the first fireproof man carpe-diem is that whst you`re thinking dancing with an oriental fan follow her down down down into her labyrinth follow the line she unwinds from her blue dress in that room everybody swoons surrender to your doom everybody swoons © Robert Cordrey Oct. 2020 We auditioned approx 8 different drums tracks and settled on the one in the song. I did the mix on the song using Studio One 5 with a ton of help from Robert and Ray. Here is the rest of the band. Guys
Nice work all round. Roberts vocal was just right for the mood of the song, and I liked Ray's very complimentary bass playing. Some very tasty plying by Scott and the band choice especially the organ was spot on.
Excellent work.

Nice collaboration!
I like the way this comes together but........... I'd ask that you bring the vocals more forward for a better listening experience.

Spirit Level,
Very cool tune— a bit of a change-up for Spirit Level . . . reading liking it. Great bass work, rayc (I believe). The organ pops a bit too much for me in spots, but that’s subjective and nitty. Love the lead guitar as well. Real slick!
All my best,
Deej

Spirit level strikes again ... and I am quite happy it did! Every aspect of this shines! Everyone's part excelled and they work so nicely together.
Sorry for the brevity of recent comments, but our new house is finally finished and we are in ther process of moving into it. Lots of work and time-consuming!
Take care and be safe ...
Alan

Spirit Level - reaching new levels.
Cool Art Rock. I like it.
Ray's bass shines. Scott's guitar sounds good. Robert's vocals are really cool. And a cool write.
Very much enjoyed the listen.

Thanks Peter. Was really happy when Robert added the vocal and lyrics to the song. Rays bass line really took the song to a new place. Thanks for checking out the song. Glad you liked it

I really enjoyed the clever use of "tomb" and "swoon" within the same line. It was quite catchy! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Ember

Hi guys,
that's really different. Like it a lot. Like Floyd said, great Art Rock - a very cool collab. Love the tone of the guitar (and the playing, too, of course) and the way Robert sings. Good bass, too. A really good job, guys !
All the best,
Stefan

First thing that caught me was how UNobtrusive your guitar fills below the vocal were, Scott. Man, you guys come up with some good stuff. Excellent playing and singing. The mix was unnoticed, which means it was perfect. Very impressive craft. Loved Ray's bass.

A collaboration at it finest. Everything about this is just perfect.
I really liked this one! The lyrics, vocal, guitar, and bass sounds like you all are in the same room jamming away.
Love that B3 also!
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Yeah! Very cool arrangement. I the way you just have the bass in there after each verse, very effective. Robert nailed the vocal (and great lyrics too), Ray is solid on the bass, and Scott .. sounds like Scott! And that is a good thing Mix also sounds good to me, I thought the vocal is sitting right where it should for this genre. Your best yet, well done!

Interesting and captivating mood. Love of course the lyrics that are so poetic and the vocal delivery which is taunting and haunting at the same time. Nice work you guys.

SL+Ray, Listened to this yesterday on basic headphones, wanted to give it another spin on studio set before I reply. The things I liked: Composition is psycho-stellar! Excellent guitar (S) and bass (R) playing! Robert, vocals are one of your best, very clear not overfxd. Lyrics/phrasing A+ Couple of things to mention that you might or might not like I thought that drums are "ringing" a bit (too much high end). Also, I think bass is a bit buried. Perhaps riding it in some places, a good example 1:44 would make it more pronounced/fun. Overall, very COOL! Thank you for sharing. Misha.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
