Hi All,

I mentioned to Deej in an earlier post that he and I must have been on the same wavelength. We both wrote a song with the same title and a similar theme. smile

Anyway, here's my song called Light It Up.

Looking down our empty street
I can see the rain’s still falling
And was it yesterday
Some real promises were broken
I don’t know just what is real
Cause I’m aware I’m falling
This house is quiet tonight
Except for the strangers calling

So good
So fine
Light it up baby
Just one more time
Before you go
Turn it up
Burn it down

Looking down memory lane
I can see the shadows falling
And was it in my mind
Some final words were spoken
I don’t accept what I feel
Cause I know you’re falling
This is my last appeal
Except for the days I’m calling

So good
So fine
Light it up baby
Just one more time
Before you go
Turn it up
Burn it down

So good
So fine
Light it up baby
Just one more time
Before you go
Turn it up
Burn it down

Powerful chorus, Bob, it's like a balladic version of American Girl by Tom Petty. Well done!

Hi Bob,

Quote:

The wise folk of old say that "Great minds think alike." I suspect that this why the above happened.

After reading your comment, I was reminded of another instance of when great minds thought alike. Science abounds with them. You may or may not have heard of the 1711 uproar in mathematics and physics cause by Newton and Leibnitz.

I hope that you and Deej can settle any potential controversy amicably.

On a more serious note... As always, I loved listening to your work. This song is no exception. In all that you do you always managed to create some wonderful pictures in my mind.

Thank you for the journey,
Noel

Hi, Bob.

You've got a knack setting up mood nicely in your songs, and this is no exception.

My favorite lyric:

This is my last appeal
Except for the days I’m calling

Enjoyed this listen! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi rsdean,

Beautiful arrangement very pleasant. A little melancholy, but not too much. Your voice lives on your lyrics. And it is very good. Well done.

Bob,
I like the longing communicated in your vocal and the build to the chorus.
A fine simple moody arrangement in your signature style.
Very cool music!

Nicely done. What's the odds that 2 songs hit the showcase at the same time with the same title?

Love the range and quality of that soft vocal, Bob. It commands the listeners attention. A very well constructed song. Way to light it up!!

Enjoy whatever happens!

"So good

We much like the write and especially that chorus.

Janice commented that your tune made her reflect on Tom Petty ballads...a good thing indeed.

And as always the arrangement is excellent with the band choice and the build.
Your use of RD's and percussion loops has become signature and is most effective.

We enjoyed it!

The chorus is sparse lyrically, yet it says so much. I really like it and it is delivered well.

You've got a knack for just the right instrumentation.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
