I've applied all suggestions, kept some and finally finished the track by replacing the bass and the accent guitars. Mastered, as usual, by Fran Ashcroft of Happy beat Studio.
I've removed all but the original version from the "Work in Progress" thread I started.

SoundCloud link:
Strawberries & Bread - Mastered.

Thank you to all of those who commented, suggested and offered encouragement.

I found, via Stefan, a better free video editor for Green Screen things so I offer an alternative:

Ray,

It sounds great! Everything pops and the vocal stands out much better now to me! Those guitars sound really good! Nice job! Torrey

Torrey, thanks.
I did a quick test with a limiter on the last mix and so knew the vox would get some extra ergs in the mastering.

Hi Ray,

This song is really rockin' now and everything sounds good.

The vocals sound very good.

I would still like a touch more volume on the vocals if you have the head room. If not it still sounds like a finished track to me.

Well done.

Best Regards
Nigel

Good song and good video. I know it takes a lot of work to make videos, so my hat is off to you.

Thanks Nigel,
the replaced bass, (I originally opted for the Hofner one becasue the Vantage had intonation problems with the A string - but I fixed that), and bumped the vocals a tiny bit & the rest was the magic woofle dust of Mastering.

Thanks jptx3,
In all fairness it only took 30 mins to shoot and a couple of hours to edit.
I'm lazy and with a short attention span.

Looks and sounds great to me.

BTW, What green screen video software are you using on the alternative - I've pretty much thrown in the towel on green screen.

Stefan recommended a suite of things but I opted for the one in his list that was easy, cheap...and had some good reviews. VideoPad Video Editor.
There are premium and pro versions but I downloaded the freebie to try before I but and the freebie meets my needs. It does have a nag feature when booting up but that's no issue for me.
The 1st video is using a free version of Wondershare.
The 2nd is the same source material but using https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/index.html

Ray this is a keeper. Great groove and vocals. The mix is spot on.

Two thumbs up.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Hi Ray,

I knew I responded to your first meal-song. And I do know again, as you have noticed.
In line with some others I could hear what you sang. I think the meal is far more tastier than the first one!
I even liked it! Not only by looking at your faces (multiple) on the second video production Stefan advised, but because it is a good song. It sounds bright and I could distinguish all instruments as well!

That video is also very entertaining. I could see some of the effects Stefan uses.
I can say a lot more, but I just want to say; keep up all this nice work. Maybe you can make videos for my songs too.
I know you are NOT lazy at all!

Hans

ray,

Final sounds great - both LOUD and soft - the real test of a mix/master. Really solid.

Video is fun - new green screen thing is nice...

Ray,
Cool stuff. Bass rules! Fun harmonies. Listened yesterday on good studio headphones, gave it another spin on cheap 20 year old Sony "in ear" set today, sounds great even in cheapos. You (and Fran) did good. That software Stefan recommend does a decent job on green removal. Thank you for sharing.

P.s. time to hit local fleamarkets for props smile

Misha.

Both vids and the mastered audio are hitting the note.

The new green screen looks good -- we gotta learn that ... someday.

As a couple of folks who just jumped into videos (other than our previous still shot efforts) we raise the pint glass to you. It takes a lot of forethought and work.

Well done on all fronts!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
