Just dug this up from the crypt for Halloween.

Created this several years ago when I was just beginning to play with recording.

Lost the original session so, I can't provide any details but it's just me no BIAB at the time.

Don't be scared!

Here's "Boogie Man Blues"

https://soundcloud.com/captainmoto/boogie-man-blues?si=22ef7c57e28f46dcb38736319f8fc3a0

Lyrics:

Ha Ha Ha H HA
Little ghosts and goblins Out on the street
Their gett'n all of the treats they can eat
When mom and daddy take them home to bed
The night belongs to the walk'n dead

I got the boogie man blues
I got me scared right out of my shoes

Look under the street light what do I see
I see the zombies com'n for me
Look there's a wolf man, he's ready to attack
I'm runn'n home and I aint look'n back

I got the boogie man blues
I got me scared right out of my shoes

I see a bat just a hang'n in a tree
His beady eyes are a stare'n at me
I think he's a vampire, he wants my blood
He can't cause I'm gonna run run run

I got the boogie man blues
I got me scared right out of my shoes

What ever don't get me is gonna get you

Ha ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

'CaptainMoto'...

Your song is a treat not only because of the spooky/humorous horror oozing out of the lyrics, but mostly because of the sound design and the music.

The musical FX in the intro and death-rattle laugh in the outro are enjoyably creepy. The music sounds like pure, spare, stripped-down Delta-style blues, which was kind of startling in a way, because I've never heard it used in such an atmospheric setting.

'Boogie Man Blues' is unique production for the spirit of the holiday!

Lots of potential with this one, I like the concept and I like your vocal/guitar work.

Might be worthwhile to redo at some point with BIAB, get some drums and a bass into the mix?

But yeah, fun tune!

Thanks for listening and adding your thoughts.
You're right, Blues is my primary genre although I've ventured here and there.
Seems like I was a little more experimental in my early learning period.
I like to paint an image with my songs and I just was in a spooky mood at the time.

Thank you sir,
It was fun, not sure about recreating it though, I think this one has flown the coop.

Nice one.
Are you going to redo it?
I ask because that clicking in your vocal, likely caused by the compressor, is the ONLY things that needs tweaking.
Fun...you've a very cool voice and the playing is ace.

Cheers

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
