This piece represents the sensual world of the male seahorse, currently at the center of of storm of controversy over his gender-fluid lifestyle as the only male animal that gets pregnant.
LYRICS:
(French Siri reads the following with an incomprehensible accent since she doesn't know how to read English)
"After completing an elaborate courtship dance that may go on for hours or days, the female seahorse transfers her mature eggs into the male’s brood pouch, where they are fertilized. At the end of a gestation period usually lasting from two to four weeks, the pregnant male’s abdominal area begins to undulate rhythmically, and strong muscular contractions eject from a few dozen to as many as 1,000 fully formed baby seahorses into the surrounding water. After that, the offspring must fend for themselves. Large litters are necessary because only about 0.5 percent will survive to adulthood."
1) I don't think I was making the cat unhappy, but I don't really remember, it was the early 1980s.
2) This recording contains other spoken words in the later part, but they were deliberately obscured when they were recorded decades ago and are, I believe, absolutely unintelligible now, even after the application of neural net isolation methods. I have no idea what I was saying, and I can't find out now. If there's anything you need NOT to hear, like messages from Satan, I can't absolutely guarantee that I wasn't saying it. There may even be some backwards stuff in there.
3) Thanks to Brian Eno for the idea of unknowable lyrics.
This reminds me, very much, of a section in John Sangster's Lord of the rings jazz suites from the early/mid 70s...well to one part in particular... I, unsurprisingly, love obscured vocals - my imagination goes wild. Ents & Entwives Starts at the 56 minute mark.

Interesting stuff! I like the use of "sound" (for lack of a better word) but also the quirky "dissonant consonance" he uses, music with a smooth, mellow feel but relentlessly alien harmonies. Thanks for this.
Whoa! Can't say I understand every word, but it is certainly an interesting language you have there, Mark. hehe Sure glad you interpreted the French though. Knowing all this about the seahorse really makes a connection to the sounds you've included. I kept listening to the end to see who buried PAUL.

Ha, yeah, I know, the "cadenza" here sounds a lot like the end of "Revolution 9", right before Yoko says "if you become naked." =8^)
Hello Mark This sounds unusual But very interesting The song name is really cool Very well done Many greetings Andi ;-)
Why thank you, especially for liking the name!
I figured if I didn't come up with something catchy, nobody would get past the first 15 seconds.
Believe it or not, I was originally considering "Sexual Seahorse", to emphasize the little guy's seriousness and maturity, and the biological nature of his story. But I was afraid that might be taken as some kind of metaphor, like calling an old singer a "musical dinosaur". Plus it's just an awful title.
Yet "Sexy" struck me as frivolous, superficial and more social than biological... until I remembered "Sexy Sadie" from the same White Album as "Revolution 9" and thought, well, alrighty then =8^) Besides, is this guy NOT a hottie?

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
