Hi, all: Here’s the song I thought I’d post before “Life Without You”. This song was actually a first for me in that it was written as a duet. But lacking a ready female vocal resource, I adapted accordingly. Not quite as compelling, but hope you enjoy the listen nonetheless. Thanks in advance for the feedback. Hope you are all well and happy! My best to you each, Deej Here’s the song:HELP ME KIND OF LOVE Here are the lyrics:Help me, lord, she’s a fire in my head She’s got me burning up And my eyes are bloodshot red I need an exit sign, but I’m stumbling blind instead I knew it when the fever had first begun I oughta buck and bail Just tuck my tail and run But she pulls me back like a comet ‘round the sun Every time I try to break it off I start to shiver, and I quake and I cough It’s a never ending loss of wanting free. She’s got a hold on me Like the moon on the sea Like a flower to a bee Like Earth’s gravity And I can’t shake free From this help me kind of love Well, help me lord, I’m still tumbling by degrees I try to stand my ground but she brings me to my knees It’s just that quiet way she smiles and whispers “Please” Every time I want to walk away She says something silly just to make me stay So helpless in her way that I can’t leave This keeps intensifying My baby doll she’s electrifying When she holds me in her arms it’s all I need But this feels too wrong to be love My honey lover, she’s all I can think of When she looks me in my eyes I just can’t breathe And here’s the band:RealTracks 2903: Bass, Acoustic, BluesyPopByron RealTracks 2715: Guitar, Nylon, Background SwingBrent Sw 110 RealTracks 2676: Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm BluesShuffleBrent Sw 130 RealTracks 372: Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Hank Sw 120 RealTracks 2933: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking SongwriterFolkSlapQuinn RealDrums: PopShuffle^4-a:Brushes, HiHat , b:Blastix, HiHat

Hi Deej,
This is excellent stuff - well done.
I enjoyed the whole song - lyrics, melody, chorus, instruments, vocals and mix.
I particularly enjoyed your singing - in tune and impassioned.
Best Regards Nigel

YES!!! Simply superb!!! My kinda song :-) Tapping my foot from beginning to end - heck, not just tapping my feet, actually dancing in my chair!
I usually take notes when I listen to a song. I just couldn't do that with this one - had to "just listen".
You are, genuinely, a genius on so many levels. One thing that, I feel, distinguishes you from so many others is that you're so darn versatile. I never know what you're going to come up with, next - and, whatever you do come up with, it's always top-notch in terms of quality.
Dare I say it, this is one of your best songs, too :-) Going to listen to it for a third time, now ...
Ah, look, forget it. I can't possibly comment on this song whilst I'm enjoying it so much. So, let's make a deal, haha: I am going to listen to it for another few times, and then see what else I can critically say about it. Right now, I'm too busy dancing in my chair to the pulse of the song in order to write anything remotely coherent. Deal? :-)
Seriously, though - BRAVO. Your last two songs, this one and "Life Without You" are Deej at his best. And that makes me grin and smile, feeling overjoyed like a kid, haha, for you. Always good to hear a good musician rock it! :-) Well done. Now, back to the song ... :-)

The bvox are icing on this very tasty cake. Fabulous word too... "I knew it when the fever had first begun I oughta buck and bail Just tuck my tail and run But she pulls me back like a comet ‘round the sun"
Just the right drums to propel this and make it toe tapper at the same time.

Good stuff, Deej. I can hear the duet, and you did a great job of doing it. It's really cool how you gallop the melody over the cool bouncing feel of the backing tracks. Great ending, and the bridge is perfectly complimentary to the whole. Your lyrics shine as always, and I'm a big fan of your vocals.

Deej,
A good write. Moves nicely and has your usual "catchy-ness".
Good BAND. I like the drums (made me look back at what RD that was - always a good sign). But, the snare jumps out of the mix a bit - like in a different space. A bit more reverb on the drums might make it sit in there more? just a guess...(an opinion, of course)
Good stuff. Keep 'em coming...

Hi Deej ...
Great song and perfect delivery of the goods! I've always loved your unique vocal style - unique in the best way. There are certain vocalists you can identify after just a word or two. You're one of those. And having such a distinctive characteristic - especially when done this good - is a real plus.
Good choice on the drum track! It really drove the entire composition from beginning to end. Thanks for a real tasty listen! Best to you ...

Catchy as hell.
As I said before, you don't repeat yourself.
Great lyrics. My favorite line: "But she pulls me back like a comet ‘round the sun."

Very cool groove, made me turn up the volume. Different from your earlier ones, but I still enjoyed it much, seems that everything you touch turns to gold Well illustrative romantic lyrics. Really catchy melody and fresh sounding chording. Excellent vocals and love the background vocals at the end. Excellent band selection, those guitars play together nicely. This is pure hit material in every way. Janne

Catchy and toe-tapping! This is fun to listen to.
Everything just works - the backing is perfect for the song.

Deej,
Very catchy melody! Your vocals are wonderful as usual. There is an old Dixieland feel a little. For example, just like ”Washington Square” by The Village Stompers. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
