(So You Wanna) Be Like Putin One of my faults is that I have a low tolerance for dumba$$ery. So when a few of our public figures in the United States praised and admired Putin, I had to write a song. (I am sure this is to no one's surprise.) On a side note: My grandmother emigrated from the Vohynia (sp?) region of Ukraine (might have been part of Russia then) to the U.S. in 1914. I still have cousins in the Ukraine. The last I heard is that they were able to flee out of Kiev to safety about a couple weeks ago. Way off balance with no checks Dangerous lack of intellect Everyone is watching your train wreck So you wanna be like Putin You’re thinking you’re the final solution We’re waiting for your execution Streams of whores and golden showers Megalomaniac man of the hour Craving all that absolute power So you wanna be like Putin You’re thinking you’re the final solution We’re waiting for your execution Pasha, Caligula, Pinochet, Tomás de Torquemada, Be Kim Jong-un today So you wanna be like Putin You’re thinking you’re the final solution We’re waiting for your execution

Good song. You used the band very well. The guitar riff is great. Timely lyrics. Vocals are very Devo or punkish - very fitting. Wow, that solo is good too. I hope your cousins make it through this ok.
Good work here.

It's enough to make one's blood boil, Scott, but at least their reprehensible statements inspired a good song. Great little guitar riff and excellent job as always on the vocals. Regards, Leon

Good angry song! My youngest daughter was in the other room and remarked that it sounded like a song her brother would write, but sung "by an old man". As an "old man" myself, I can assure you that's high praise! Patience is a virtue, but I'm less certain that suffering fools is.

You had me at intolerance of dumba$$ery, Scott. Excellent lyrics and your usual great vocal. The Wrecking Crew is in top form. I like the response in the end: Darn tootin'. haha I like the way you think!! A fun song.

The Dumba$$ery is pathetic and disgusting but, what frightens me more is the hordes of double duma$$ess that eat it up the propaganda like candy.
Maybe Steven Seagal will come to his senses and deploy his martial arts against his buddy for the good of humanity.
Nice biting message with a driving beat. It's got an "in your face" vibe that fits the message well.
Well done.

Some may admire the beast, but you got inspired and that's healthy anger management. Good groove, good band with nice "soft-punk" approach, although the subject of your song would need harder treatment.

Nice punk feel to it. Creative and imaginary lyric writing. What's not to like about that?
Here's another verse for you.
A senile disaster in Afghanistan A couple of laptops prove you're the "big man" Bumbling into world war three without a plan.
I might just have to write something like this..... there's certainly enough grist.

Clever, well written lyric. A message that need to be heeded (but likely won't by those who need to)
Nice Grungy BAND.
Good attitudinal vocal.
I like it.

Very good song about a terrible subject. Good voice, matches very well with this kind of song. In our country (like most European countries) more and more refugees from Ukraine arrive. We listen and watch the news all day!

Scott, Excellent and timely punk. Well delivered message. Composition, vocals and mix are ACE! Listens very well. As unwritten rule, good punk music is often born in turbulent times. Thank you for speaking out and sharing.
Misha.
P.S. poo-tin does not deserve a "quick one", I think a lifetime vacation in a mine in Siberia would do him better. Perhaps a groupon tickets for his buddies too. Unreal how much pain and suffer he caused. Two of my grandparents are of Ukrainian heritage. When I was 5, family visited my uncle in Ukraine. One of the best childhood memories. He passed away couple of years back. Thinking about it now, maybe it's for the better, not to see all this horror.

Scott, OUCH - you sting! The mind set of the ones the chorus is aimed at is unbelieveable but not as remarkable as the millions who support it. COOL song, nice edge to your critique.

A perfect choice of style. Purposeful lyrics, encapsulated with a darkness fitting of the subject.
This could be something from the 'Rocky Horror' show, except without the 'Rocky' part.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
