I've had a lot of frustration trying to mix this, so here's my second attempt after trying some of your suggestions. I hope it came out a little better, if you'd like to give it a listen, please feel free to comment on how I can improve. Thanks for everyone's support and input - Brad.

https://soundcloud.com/user-722422510/american-me-1 American Me - (Re-mix)

I fly the red, white and blue out in my front yard.
I like to barbeque and drive a muscle car.
I keep the dust off my bible and the dirt off my gun.
I’m a hard-workin’ man, and I like to have fun.
I love my wife and my family
and livin’ life here in the land of the free.
You can call me old fashioned, but I believe
a little more old fashioned’s what this country needs,
but that’s American me. That’s just American me.

I’m just a simple man, so what the heck
is this stuff they call politically correct?
Instead of vertically challenged or nutritionally enhanced,
why not say, “Dude, it’s just short and fat.”
Yeah, why not say what you really mean?
‘Cause that’s the way that I believe.
Now politicians may not agree,
but more honesty is what this country needs,
but that’s American me. That’s just American me.

I like honest pay for a hard days work,
and then come Sunday to be here in church
where I kneel and pray just the way I believe
because a lot more of God is what this country needs,
but that’s American me. That’s just American me.

And we’ve got the right to speak our mind.
Try to take that away, there’s gonna be a fight.
No false prophet, no guru, so self-deceived saint
would ever be able to take that away
from American me. Not from American me.

And I’m grateful for all those who fought and bled
pursuing our freedom and justice.
And I believe that what this country needs
is more like them, but then, that’s American me.
American me. That’s just American me.
That’s what I believe because that’s American,
that’s American me. That’s just American me.

And the band is ...

Drums: Bryan Fullen, _HKYTJON.STY
Bass: Dow Tomlin, _HKYTJON.STY
Acoustic Rhythm Gtr.: Jason Roller, _SUGAR.STY
Electric Rhythm Gtr.: Darin Favorite, _HKYTJON.STY
Piano: John Jarvis, _HKYTJON.STY
I did the lead guitar using my Spirit tele model, and I did the vocals - So all the good stuff you hear is Biab.

It sounds pretty good Brad! Hopefully you're satisfied with it now and look to your next project! Great lyrics that tell how it should be IMHO!
Thanks, Torrey

Brad, you improved your song very well!
More intonation in the vocals and it became more dynamic.

You are a fast learner...

You must be applauded for cramming in so many words in that lyric.

Brad,

Better.
Piano stands out a bit better.
The drums could still be made louder than they are.

Hi Brad
Cool re-mix
I liked the first version already
But I think with the new version everything comes clearer out of the speaker
My favorite part is at 3:20
That is so cool
Great music you make Brad
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

Thanks for the comments everyone. Basically I used most of the suggestion you all gave me from the first post. I omitted the word "but" as Ray and Dan suggested. Turned the piano up quite a bit, and the drums up a little (probably not enough in either case). And I added reverb to almost all of the tracks. I left some without, but I don't remember which ones now. I appreciate all the help from you folks. You are all putting out great music, so I feel very fortunate.

Yes, Brad! This really such a good song. The mix is much much better. I like the interplay with the piano. The voice sits better --heck everything does. Well done. I really like this song.

Enjoy whatever happens!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
