Hi All, I wrote this song last night. It just seemed to fall into place with the style I used. I used a midi style as it sounded good (well to me anyway) ****** Song Summary ************* Title: I'm So Lonely Key=C , Tempo 75, Length (m:s)=3:12 2 bar intro, 28 bar chorus, from bar 3 to bar 30. Repeat x2 choruses No Melody Soloist track has 298 notes, Soloist harmony is < no harmony >(0) Style is SAM_COOK.STY (Sam Cook Style) Style MIDI Instruments are : Finger Electric Bass (34), Rhodes Electric Piano (5), Clean Electric Guit (28), Acoustic Piano (1), RealTracks in song: ~492:Trombone, Jazz Ballad Sw 085 MIDI Drums :1 Standard Drum Kit (1) ******************* Here it is: I'm So Lonely Lyrics I'm lonely oh so lonely I wonder where you are I miss you how I miss you You are my guiding star I'm so lonely I love you how I miss you Yes you were my angel of light I'm lonely yes I'm lonely Won't you please call tonight I'm so lonely without you My heart is torn apart I'm lonely I miss you Wish we could make a new start I'm so lonely Instrumental I love you how I miss you I'm so lonely now your out of your sight I'm lonely yes I miss you Won't you please call tonight I'm so lonely without you It's like a dagger in my heart I'm lonely so lonely Wish we could make a new start I'm lonely Hope you like it. Hi George I always liked Sam Cooke - this one flew me back to the high school dances in the gymnasium. This progression is made for slow dancing. I remember too that the sax seemed to be the instrumental of choice - and I can hear it echoing through the cavernous gym which was awash in blue and red spotlights. And thanks for helping me remember Leslie and Barbara and Wendy.  You know, given the style, you probably could have gotten away with a touch of wet reverb - you don't use much on your voice here and you've done very well. Or maybe add the verb to the whole mix. Sounds just like the early 60's all over again ! I agree with Ian toss some reverb in the mix ,and maybe a touch of slap back delay in your voice it will give it more depth .Thanks for sharing !

I have taken your advice and added some reverb to my vocal.
I have also changed the Trombone to a Sax.

Hey Michee,
One of my favorite movies is American Graffitti - probably spelled it wrong - but as the others have said this has that retro feel. Can just imagine them dancing in the gym. Enjoyed it.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
