Friends vacationed holidayed in Colorado and took nearly 400 fabulous pictures of the Pike's Peak area which I set to music with Band-In-A-Box, of course. This as a cut from the soundtrack that I did for them. I entered the changes, key, tempo and Brent Mason came over and picked it for me. It's all RTs. Can I still claim credit as "Composer?" Seems unfair to Brent.

I haven't yet figured out how to allow comments on my tunes. Praise goes here.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1209254&content=songinfo&songID=11409445

It's the first tune on the list. Please squint an ear then "Rate me up, Scotty!"

Scott (aka Rock Stsr Knot) would recognize the photos of the backside of Pike's Peak. I lived at the foot in the town of Manitou Springs while stationed at Fort Carson, my final duty station.

Nice track ! I recognize that 'B' Bender Tele sound.. have one myself. That's a Brent Mason soloist track ? I need to experiment more with his Real Tracks for sure.

Nice job.

Don,

I lived in Colorado 1961 thru 1964, single then, Lowry AFB
military, student then T.I. for OJT electronic site seismic
training for almost three years.

Found my way back in 1969 thru 1971, loved people and country
but not violent weather.

The soundtrack is very appropriate for the Majestic Beauty of their mountains.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey don,

Sounds good. This one is begging for lyrics.

That Brent sure gets around don't he.
He was over here at my place last night layin' down a couple tracks.

Seeker,

I was discharged from Fort Carson on April 30th, 1969 so we could have bumped into each other without knowing it. In my stupid youth, I didn't even own a camera. Her pictures are simply osmosis! I think the difference between a good photographer and we average blokes is the ability to recognize the beauty in raw nature. Things that others simply step over on the way to the oothoose. She definitely has a knack for capturing "majesty." Every photo of nearly 400 shots is calendar quality. Her signature specialty is Oklahoma sunsets. Incredible as it sounds, she shoots them out her bathroom window, If you, or any of my forum mates would like to see fabulous Oklahoma sunsets just PM me with your email address. I'll respond, with her consent, as soon as I find time. I use them as wallpaper on my computers.

Your signature states “ I am paralyzed”. Well not when it comes to composing and mixing music!

Super song and super job Don!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

That's especially appreciated from you, my friend. My left side is paralyzed and I'm gradually losing dexterity in my right hand. I rely on my right hand to "speak" with my DynaVox. I don't even want to imagine life without speech. DynaVox also makes an EyeMax eye-tracking attachment that interprets eye movements so that may be my eventual solution. Medicare quit paying for PT so fellow Jehovah's Witnesses come and keep my joints from "freezing up." I strive to stay upbeat and smiling. They tell me that I'm a great encouragement to the entire congregation. That makes me very happy.

Thanks, Bob. I find it difficult to take credit for something that BIAB did but I appreciate your welcome praise. It keeps me going.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
