Lay Him In The Ground
This one is about the revenge of a jilted lover.

Please enjoy.
All comments welcome.

Sound Cloud

Lay Him In The Ground

She came a long one evening from the southern part of town.

She seemed quite unsettled as her eyes kept darting round.

Mascara flooded from her cheeks onto her wedding gown.

She came to lay him in the ground.

She fell down onto her knees and looked towards the sky.

And called toward the heavens oh why my god oh why.

Her grief was uncontrolable her fists beat on the ground
She swore to lay him in the ground.

'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
At times it seems impossible when youve been delt a hand.
Your grief can not be satisfied its like some twisted plan.
Begining of a journey that seems to know no bounds.

To day you lay him in the ground.
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

She found him in some tavern he was laying money down.
Then she produced a pistol from beneath her wedding gown.

It may seem impossible sorted and profound.
This day she'll lay him in the ground.

Good Song Ironbark Bob, I noticed a couple of mic pops. When I am having problems with that I sing across the mic instead of directly into it. Just point the mic straight up, old timer trick if you don't have a pop screen. Thanks for sharing Bob!

Hi Tommy.
Yes Im having a real hard time with mike pops.
I have made a screen using stockings but it still isnt working right as you noticed.

I will give your tip a try.
My mike is Uni Directional so I hope it works.

Or maybe I could use words without the letter "P" in them

Many thanks for the great advice.

Rob,

Once again, you have a good one here! This one has more of a "folk" feel to me, makes for a nice change. Good luck finding all the words without the letter "p" in them!

Rob,

Nice song from CooloolaCove - I like the sound of that - Cooloola - hmmm might be a song in there.

Here's an easy tip. Smile when you sing a P word and you won't pow or pop.

regarding the dreaded "popped p"

a trick used by some radio speakers is to substitute B for P. The lips form both sounds the same way, but the P sound tends to be made with more air, hence the pop.

Buried in the context of a song, a B often comes across as a softer P. (YMMV)
