This year I purchased Band-in-a-Box Audiophile Edition after waiting around 12 years. The sax, horns etc was the final piece to the puzzle. This is my first song ever created using BIAB. The .wav files are the highest quality and hold up nice in the mixing and mastering process. All running off a usb drive with no issues. This song is named after my loving better half that has supported my creative spirit for many decades. https://soundcloud.com/digital-angel/daddy-got-a-big-ma-maRealTracks in style: 1717:Bass, Electric, TexasBluesRockStraight Ev 120 MIDI SuperTracks in style: 1885:Piano, Rhythm TexasBluesRockJohn Ev 120 RealTracks in style: 1718:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockStraightBrent Ev 120 RealTracks in style: 1719:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockStraightSol Ev 120 RealTracks in song: ~583:Guitar, Electric, Soloist Blues Roadhouse Ev 120 RealTracks in song: 1956:Sax, Alto, Soloist TexasBluesRockStraightMark Ev 120 RealDrums in style: BluesRockEv^1-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, Open HiHat Philippians 4:13

Hi DA,
First of all, welcome to the world of PGMusic products! Pretty cool, eh?
Your first submission is very easy to listen to, and the sound quality validates the extra expense required to get the audiophile edition. - ps... I liked the Robert Cray vibe in the song

Thank you for your comments.
PG Music products have opened up the door to future songwriters and producers that have used traditional methods of song arrangement and production.
Many thanks.

Thanks for the post. We enjoyed the listen. I couldn't agree more about the "door opening" aspects of PG Music. After a long hiatus from song writing and recording these products have allowed us to have musical fun and meet great folks on this forum. Look forward to hearing more!

What a loaded question:) You have to limit the eq on both ends low's and high's. This is then sent to the multi-bands to squeeze the freq's and boost as needed, crossover's are very important to find the sweet stuff. Exciter's for tube or tape tickling, reverb for the sides middle and then feed the juice to the stereo processors then to the beast compressor/limiter with a soft compression and clip reduction. Post eq to cleanup, all "post" on a stereo master.
I am actually trying to get an even bigger sound without having to go over lets say 1/4 on the average sound system to hear it.
Hope this helps.
P.S.
I have one other secret, but I'm going to have to save it for a rainy day!

Welcome aboard, like others I too enjoyed the listen. On a side bar I did have a little trouble in my head with the dueling sax and guitar leads, just a little nit pick.
In fact after all these years you may have just sold me the audiophile version next go round.
Later,

Hey Danny! That is correct you have a good ear.
I loved both and would say the guitar would be my favorite.
It started out without the sax and I just could hear a sax in my head for some parts, but as you can hear the guy who programmed those notes:) just went off and let it rip!
By the way that was the very first song I ever created with BIAB and so you live and learn.
I have slowed down to understand the work flow a little more and will pay attention to the arrangements.
DA...

A late welcome!
I really liked this one, great mix!
Super song and title!
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I enjoyed this as well. The audiophile version absolutely sounds great! Like Danny C... The dueling sax / guitar didn't really work for me, I would have preferred giving each one 12 bars and then have them trade off every 2 bars or go into the dueling thing to wards the end. Just my .02 Welcome to the forum. Greg

Hi Greg and thank you for the warm welcome. Some times you get lost in the mix and on the technical side loose all sense of structure timing etc. So most of the time I would have come off a MPK 49 with Zebra 2 and Try to go from abstract to structured and it just doesn't work late at night. I usually don't revisit mixes as they are a learning experience so hear goes nothing. http://snd.sc/13QmT7rI would rather do another different arrangement as the magic is gone with this my 1st adventure with BIAB! Have a great week. DA...

My welcome is a little late, but welcome! Every thing fits together nicely in both versions but my preference would be the second.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
