First feel very guilty about not monitoring and commenting on
the showcase performers and their music.

Link below is to unique findings last night that allowed me,
along with BIAB style using John Jarvis outstanding playing
of the single super midi track style(M_BZ128P) used in this music.
The algorithms used by PG folks in coding this style is above reproach.
Also the new Addictive Keys Synth enabled by jazzmandan's posting
of Stupid deal of the day. In the link are some pro's primarily sound
and cons..... over there.

http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=213137#Post213137

Very little FX, AK contains some amount. For this music Uprignt Yamaha U3
was miked for front stereo. Also their piano style selection does contain
some amount of default FX.

In Realband use PG Dynamics default settings with about 5db gain.
Also used Sonitus Multiband using soft compression.
The dynamics of John Jarvis playing and also the AK dynamics leave the
ballpark fairly often, and the above helped this.
Adding these FX I feel did detract a bit, but still decent.

With the chords used in the music and sounds made me feel Happy, hence
the title.

Don't mind comments one bit, they are ways to improve and learn.

This not only sounds great it sounds like it’s live. Just add a little vocal chatter and some clicking of glasses and bottles and it would put you in a small jazz blues lounge.

Great job

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Mario,

First let me again comment, the John Jarvis style is really great.
The algorithms that PG coders use with the super midi tracks really
carry the midi playing thru to its maximum quality. And the
synth itself "I think" is contributing a lot, not only to the sounds,
but the dynamics of the music. The semi-accidental find on using
the style helped also.

I do thank you for the compliments.

BTW, maybe I can hire some semi-crocked humans and sample them....LOL

Nice, Frank. That very last chord needs to ring for a while...

I agree with Floyd. Nice, but the last chord is too abrupt. Need to be sustained.

Floyd, Steve,

Thank you for nice compliment. Also not much "meat" left at ending,
but tweaked it a bit... Original post above content changed.

Danny,

Appreciate the nice comment, PG folks and John Jarvis were looking
over my shoulder... and AK soft synth.

Hi Frank, nice piece. Yes the VI makes the heck of the difference, I've had that addictive keys demo for awhile and sounds amazing. I have a question though, where can I find that super midi track(M_VZ128BP) style? Sounds pretty good. Is that the actual name of it? I'm sure I have it since I have version 2013 installed but seem not to find it or I'm looking for it in the wrong place or name.
Thanks for the reply.

Mike B.

cubanpete,

Sheeezzz, now that makes 4 mistakes.... M_BZ128P
My BAD....

Not sure exactly when Super Midi's came out, but need recent version
of BIAB. You should have the style. Taking this style and adding
some more instruments would make it a "hot potatah".

Thanks for your compliments.

Guenter,

Glad you enjoyed, and wanted to share some accidental knowledge.
Hope it helps you.

cool stuff... it sounds like a live player.

I have soloed some of the piano tracks in my stuff and simply put, they sound good in the mix but not as stand alone. This does.

Yup the ending is the weak link.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
