This song is about, who else, but my
dear late wife whom I really do miss
very much !:))

Cheers
Dani

Recorded on my laptop with mixcraft 6
Style: 12/8 SURF.STY Surf slow 12/8 60:s pop
Instruments involved:
Bass: 36 Fretless El Bass
Piano: 28 Clean El Guit
Drums: Realdrums Nashville 28/10 Ride
Guitar: 27 Jazz El Guit
Stroings: 54 Voice Oohs
Soloist: 90 Pad-warm Slow

The Lyrics are:

WHY DID IT HAVE TO END THIS WAY (by Dani)
Why,
why did it have to end this way
still searchin´for an answer and pray
I´ll see you once again
come what may
and so my search goes on,

and on
it just keeps goin´on, and on
I don´t know what to do
without you
I miss your love so true
yes I do
and so I´m really blue

I wanna get through
to you

When,
I still remember when , when
we met and fell in love yes
and then
there were just you and me
you and me
so happy as can be

But fate, cruel fate, had to split us apart
goin´on breakin´my heart!

Why,
why did it have to end this way
still searchin´for an answer and pray
I´ll see you once again,
come what may
and so my search goes on, and on

But fate, cruel fate, had to split us apart
goin´on breakin´my heart,
my heart !

Dani,

Okay, you need to make up your mind if you want to be Burt or Brian! Great Beach Boys harmonies. The only nit pick I have is that I think you need to tighten up the harmonies just a bit, rhythmically. I don't know what DAW you are using, but it's not that hard to do with a little cutting and nudging.

I particularly like the acapella ending. Very beautiful song, with nice progressions as usual. I can feel the heart-felt sentiments in your vocals. I pray that you are comforted in singing it. Thanks for sharing this one.

Steve

Hi, Bob !

You are all too kind with this
old surf music digger, but you
know I do appreciate your most kind
words truly much !:)))

You know that this is improvisation
all through, so it can be and is
somewhat inconsistent at times !:))

I like the Beach Boys style, and you are almost there ... I think the lead vocal should be pushed out in front more so there are more clarity to the lyric. It is hard to make out the lyric. Otherwise nice !

Dani, Are you sure you're not from California? You have a good handle on this style. Nicely done.

Hi, Tommy !:)) LOL !

Thank you for your most kind comment !:))

Me from California ? (lol)
That might be fun, but I guess I am
deeply rooted in my SuecoNorwegian
culture !!(lol) !! BB have always been
my favorites and we used to sing those
wonderful tunes ( to be honest, quite
a long time ago) Nowadays the singers and
their voices have more or less
disappeared so I guess this is a bit
nostalgic ?

Dear Guenter !:))

Thank you for your kindness !

You are right, my friend ! I ment too old
to be able to do this as it is difficult
to sing and close to my upper limitations ! (lol) !

I know that you Guenter is very, very fond
of harmonies, so I guess the ending was a
bit surprising ? (lol) !!:))

We love your productions and, hey, I rode around in high school with a surfboard on the car, bleached hair and dimes (1964) in my pocket to play Beach Boy songs at the hamburger joint. Yeah, I like BB style songs!

And I'm sure she will always live in your heart.

Hi Dani! I enjoyed the version with the enhanced lead most. Could make out the lyrics better. Loved the harmonies and the sentiment. Cheers.

Very pretty, Dani! The harmonies a re great. As everyone has said, a great Beach Boys sound! I think it would be good to bring the lead vocal a little more forward in the mix.

That was real nice listen...loved it!

Dani,

A pretty song. The "enhanced" one is preferred, I think. The piano needs to come up some to be more a part of the mix - it's almost buried - let it sound like a piano... drums are pretty "soft", too.

The harmonies are sweet. When it started, I thought you were about to break into "Surfer Girl"..

Hi, Janice & Bud !:))

You are all too nice, but I do thank you
for your kind comments, always so nice !:))
...and Bud, that would be pure nostalgia wouldn´t it ? (lol) !!
I can recall I had a pair of wranglers for at least
three decades full of patches sawn to them by my dear wife !!
In the end, they were so full of patches that
you could barely see the original clothing anywhere (chuckle) !:))
Finally I had to dispose of them as they just disintegrated
when you took them in your hands !!:))

I did remix the tune further but could not

here as a quote ! (I do not really
know how to use this program ) !!:))

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
