A tune I composed a few years ago for a friend in Shetland. She was listening to a mutual friend on internet radio and forgot about her sausages. A fellow Scottish music presenter asked me if I could compose a tune for the event. In Shetland the Boston two step is their ' national ' dance so I came up with the tune and it was played on his show just 3 nights later. She's still getting a lot of friendly banter over the episode. I did record this tune at the time using biab, and whilst it was ok, it didn't have the 'kick' that Scottish music needs.
I recorded the tune yesterday using the V3 desktop module. Even the accordion sounds come from this machine ! The one I used for this tune is sampled from a 50 yr old Hohner Morino V accordion.
I recorded direct into the pc using Adobe Audition. No tweaks, no plug ins.
For Waltzes & Country music biab is brilliant and can't be beaten. This is the kind of style I've been yearning for
Enough waffling, hope you like the tune

Hey Graham,

I know this is a lot to ask, but could you put this on Soundcloud? I don't like to have to dl from dropbox to listen - it always gives me problems for some unknown reason. smile

I did enjoy the tune. Nice production. I have a soft spot for Scotland. Growing up, the lady next door to us was from Dunoon, Scotland and captivated me with stories, pictures and many Scottish items. Scotland is one of the few places I dream of traveling to. So far, I've only explored it from my computer on Google Earth.

Hi, Furry !:))

I love Scotland !
After Norway (I´m a quarter Norwegian)
it is one of the
most beautiful places on earth !:))
(especially the Lake District) !!
I´ve been to many places over
there from Loch Ness to
Loch Lomond (what a beautiful lake) !!
Little did I then know that
"me and my true love would never
meet again on the bonnie, bonnie
banks of Loch Lomond" as my wife
later died of cancer ! (but she got
to see Scotland before her departure) !
Among a lot of places we also
attended the Edinburgh Tattoo
(what a wonderful show in the castleyard)
I´ll never forget the moment
when the Scottish band came marching
through the swirling gunsmoke and
you could hear hundreds of pipes !!!!!!!
If I ever get a chance to go there
again I´d love to visit the tattoo anew !
So, Furry, I liked your tune even without
the pipes !:))...but what happened to
the sausages ?

Cheers
Dani

Hiya Dani, the fire brigade were called out by a nieghbour to extinguish the sausages. ROFL
Yeah We live about 20 miles from Loch Ness. I used to pass there twice a week on the way to various gigs on the island of Skye ( My favourite part of Scotland ).
I've a Norwegian style waltz I must record one of these days and upload.
I've been to the tattoo, wonderful spectacle.
The bagpipes are also sampled onto this V3 desktop, I havn't gotten round to experimenting with them yet hee hee

Footnote..... The first radio station to play it was Bluewater radio in Ontario ( I'm doing a Scottish show for them just now every Sunday.) Andy Mack ( the owner ) said he'd more fun out of that tune than any others.
grin
It's been played by one of Scotlands top traditional bands but sadly not recorded as yet. Must fill the piggy bank and get some bribary going. Most of the folk I know are already corrupt grin grin grin
