When I wrote this one I didn't like the song.
After a while it grew one me.
Hope it grows on you too.

After all who hasn't wanted to do this when their home alone?

Vocals and harmonica myself.

Sorry lost all the original files on this on also.
Regards Rob

Watching John Wayne television

Well I grab my hat and my bridle too.
Ive got my spurs and an old lasso.

Well its about time I made the decision bout
Watching John Wayne on the television.

Got the TV on I got the curtains drawn.
I got my cap gun loaded I'm about to rule the west.

Well the bad guys always wear the blackest of hats.
I read it in a book now that's a fact.

Ill get some fries during the intermission.
While watching John Wayne on the television

Got my Cuban heels on I chew tobacco too.
I got my cap gun loaded I'm about to rule the west.

Chorus

Watching old movies on a Saturday night.
When the smoke clears I will win the fight.

Stagecoach brakes in a cloud of dust.
If I was there, there would be no fuss.

Don't say a word now reserve you opinion,
While I got my cap gun loaded I'm about to rule the west.

I got my bandana on I got the sound up loud.
I got my cap gun loaded I'm about to rule the west.

Fill

I got my cap gun loaded I'm about to rule the west.
I got my cap gun loaded I'm about to rule the west

A good (non cliche) song subject.
Lyrics are well crafted with good verse/chorus continuity.

Well done....

EDIT: oops...I almost left a lyrical comment that you did not ask for. smile

Fun and clever tune! Interesting rhymes for "television". You have been cranking out the tunes lately. Keep 'em comin'! Take care. Greg

Had a lot of fun listening. Catchy tune and lyrics. I've always been a big fan of John Wayne.

Thanks guys.
Two of my friends got together one night when their wives where away and watched some old black and white John Wayne movies on DVD.

He still may have been know as Marion Morrison then?
My friends reminded me of two young boys let lose for the first time.

One being in his mid sixties and the other pushing forty.
Their telling of the night out amused me so I wrote the tune from their get together.

From memory I don't think they really used cap guns?

Thanks again.

Wow Bob, you've got a whole library of stuff there

Cap gun? ha ha

There might be some missing lines between the words:

"Don't say a word now reserve you opinion,"
and
"While I got my cap gun loaded I'm about to rule the west."

Maybe another spot or two.

See? I do take notice

Wow... what a mental picture THAT painted.... I think you probably should have included a line that placed this many years ago and while you were a 7 year old kid....

I'd think about a rewrite of the lyrics to make it fit clearly into the world of a 7 year old's playtime make believe. Adding that one thing puts it into the proper perspective.

Interesting song.

Excellent song!

I had a flashback to my childhood when my parents took our family to Frontier Town, a cowboy type amusement park in the New York State's Adirondacks. My brothers and I were positive we killed those Indians, bank robbers, and stagecoach robbers with our cap guns when you sang "While I got my cap gun loaded I'm about to rule the west"!

Anyway thanx partner for the memories!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
