WTG
Please use alternate link at bottom of page if you have issues with SoundCloud.

A few weeks ago I pondering all the social media/texting short cuts, e.g., LOL, OMG, WTG, etc and ended up writing what I felt was a decent verse, chorus and hook....but the muse, who rarely visits, abruptly left. I revisited it a couple of times and remained stonewalled. Still thinking I might have something going I ask floyd if he'd help out. And he did, big time. In short order he added another verse, the bridge and came up with a great melody. A while back we co-wrote "Tryin'" and it resulted in us posting a guy and a gal version. So look for the guy version of this from floyd!

It's all just for fun but we do welcome and appreciate your comments!

J&B

Lead Vocal: Janice (Rodes NT1 interfaced to Logic Pro X via USB Blue Icicle)
Harmony Vocal: floyd
Bud: Mix and Mastering (Ozone 6 and Nectar2)
Bass: RT 712 Acoustic Bossa, ev, simple
R Guitar 1: RT 1595 Fingerpicking Pop 8ths Steady ev
R Guitar 2: RT 2200 Nylon, Background, ev
Cello: RT 1856 PopCountry, ev
Fiddle: RT 2028 Soloist, ev
Banjo: RT 1758 Pop16ths, ev

Thanks floyd for the nylon guitar suggestion and the idea of letting the RT's build.

WTG

V1
Our years together weren't all heaven but neither were they hell
better than a life alone, far as I could tell
So it caught me off guard when you said you were leaving
if you walk out that door, you'll leave me nothing to believe in

Chorus
Staring out the window, wondering what it's all about
dark clouds moving in while you are moving out
If you're hanging 'round to see if I'm going to fall apart
Way to go,  good job,  you're off to a damn good start

V2
Something that once passed for love turn in to passing time
now past the point of no return, no reason, no rhyme
it cracked, it crumbled, it resisted repair
it teetered, it tumbled, for the lack of a little care

chorus

bridge
I held out hope that we could find a way to make things better
I'm left holding my breath and trying to hold myself together

chorus

Almost had to lookup "WTG" when Janice rescued me! Guess I'm not as clued up on social media as I like to think I am. Love the fiddle and the very subtle banjo. Good one guys

Really great, fantastic lyric, pleasant laid-back pace. The strings really balance the song nicely, giving it a 'forlorn' feel.

Top job once again.

Thank you. Glad Janice rescued you. smile Yeah if we were commercially oriented we'd definitely call it "Way To Go" but what the heck -- a little whimsy. On the banjo, I had tried it...didn't like it but then floyd mentioned it with the notion of letting it enter the late into the song and contribute to the build. That man's good at that stuff.

Thanks Guenter! Glad you like the fiddle. Using it and the cello was a bit of an experiment. Glad it worked for you.

Like everything about this one. Love the fiddle. The nice strong vocals.
The light whimsical tone of the piece and the word plays.
Held, holding, hold in the bridge, leavin, believe in, movin in movin out,
cracked, crumbled, resisted repair
teetered, tumbled, lack of a little care.
Enjoy that. Cheers.

Excellent listen. Radio ready production, beautiful singing. You always choose great songs so I was a little surprised this was written in house instead of a public domain song. Really strong writing.

Hi Janice, Bud and Floyd,

Nice WTG guys! grin
We've just learned some new short cuts, LOL! laugh
The song:
OMG! wink
It is definitely compliant with your usual high level of song creating.
A nice listen for sure.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
