This year I made it my goal to compose music only. I normally go more vocal heavy. I will do a few vocals later as I have told some of the FAWM folks I would collab with those that write lyrics only and set their words to music. So far though just my own. I am playing the piano on Garden Walk and Clarity (Note on clarity after playing the piano I then took it into Reason and started playing with instrument voices until I found something that I felt like fit in the albums flow so far. Angels bow I programmed into Reason. So far I have not used BIAB, but I will when I begin putting the others songs to music. As always I Appreciate any feedback!

Hi Robert.

You've been an amazing supporter of FAWM over the years. Your ability to compose so much in such a short time frame is incredibly impressive. You're certainly off to a flying a start in 2015 with these!

All the best,
Noel

Hi PGFantastic,

Some lovely tunes there. My favourite was probably Angels Bow.

Wow, I just looked into FAWM and saw the goal - 14 songs in 28 days! I think I need a rest just thinking about it, lol.

Hi Robert,

enjoyable listens. Like Receder I get dizzy just thinking of of a marathon of 14 songs in 28 days.
Good luck!

Good concept for this FAWM. I'll have to go over and leave some comments here and there at FAWM. I haven't been using BIAB for awhile, but i did do my FAWM #3 song with the help of BIAB.

FAWM is a cool place to be!

I have added three more songs to this years FAWM. There was a request for a lyric song, take a listen to "It's My One Day Off".

Robert,

I enjoyed listening to "One Day Off". I can understand why your getting so many requests for you to sing songs as your singing is nice.

Of the instrumentals you've written, Clarity is my favorite so far. All of them are nice but for some reason Clarity just sticks out above the rest to me.

You FAWMers are amazing. I'd be HARD pressed
to write that many in a year.

Enjoyed them and best to you for the rest of the period.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I got to number 14 today with a collaboration, a song called We've Got A Long Drive Home. All feedback is appreciated!

Hats off to you Robert. You're going to get some good stuff out of this. I love the opening chord progression and the opening lines to the last one - We've Got A Long Ride Home. "...headlights painting yellow lines..." and what a relatable hook.

Don't they do something like this in the summer too or at some other time of year where you write a bunch of songs in a specific period?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
