"The Equivocatin' Blues" Video

Howdy all, I recently remastered this song with
Ozone 6 and created a video for it.
It was originally posted a couple
of years ago or so when I was still using
GarageBand.

We hope you will find the video of interest
and comments are most welcome!

Oh, and the views expressed do not
necessarily represent those of the authors!

Janice and Bud,

Haha!
1st verse is relevant since us Brits have just had an election.crazy sick

A good dixie foot tapper and then the scat trumpet EXCELLENT. The guitar solo was nice too.

But then I too should be equivocating in my reply. *sits and thinks* *plays song again* *gives up*
The video was an excellent match to the song, well done. The mix was good as usual and Janice's voice...meh!! laugh grin This song is another good example of her excellent technique.

Thoroughly enjoyed

Hi there Janice & Bud.

A great track and a lot of fun, but like all good humour, it has a serious undercurrent running through it.

Nice production and arrangement, enhanced by the video and, of course, Janice's wonderful voice.

As Alyn said, we've just endured a general election over here, so parts were very timely.

Thanks Alyn and BTW I have been following your election with some interest. Looks like the pollsters are running for cover. Gotta wonder sometimes how they can be so accurate and then completely blow one.

Thanks for the comment on the mix. It's our second venture into lyric videos and while tedious at times it is fun.

Glad you noted the scatting. It was a bit spontaneous...but what the heck it seemed to have worked.

Thanks again!

Really fun and clever track!! Don't we all feel that way at times? I do. Really well written and perfectly delivered. That trumpet part was awesome. FWIW, I would say Buy Gold (or better yet, silver) as all of the world's major governments owe way, way more than they could ever have a prayer of paying back, AND eat for health most of the time but for pleasure at least once a week. My advice in a nutshell. Got a kick out of this one!! Video was nice too. Take care. Greg

Too true these blues. Saccharin now good for us.... Woody Allen's futuristic sleeper movie prediction where smoking is healthy can't be far behind. LOL on this one. I'll +1 a like for the scat trumpet solo.

Good tune and production. As always, enjoyed Janice's vocals. The song and video worked good together. I've not built myself up to all the work required for a video or had a song with enough story to keep one's attention for 3 1/2 minutes. I enjoy your hard work though.

Thanks ROG, we are particularly happy that you feel the video enhanced the song! Well, at least your election is over...we have 17 months to go. Like Janice sang we're turning off the news.

Excellent song and now the video makes it all the better! Good choice of graphics to echo the points in the song! And the fasing text is also a very nice and artsy touch!

My favorite part of this song is Janice's trumpet solo... I'm curious to know: was that spontaneous? Or did y'all talk about it and decide that it would be cool to do that?

Hey Greg, FWIW we are eco folks and vegetarians who have a few Krugerrands!!

Thanks for the kind remarks. I hadn't listened to this tune in a year and I felt after re-mastering it that it might be a good one to try and learn about creating lyric videos.

Thanks for listening and watching.

Another fun one from you two!

Love the clever satire and the video production.

The 'kazoo' is brilliant!

(I put a few songs on YouTube, but you can't upload an updated file:( I'm getting away from Ozone right now. Trying to get the mix right and then master with a MB Comp and the Waves L3 Multimaximizer. Waves plugins are often on sale...I like 'em.)

This was good the first time around! Better the second!

Excellent job on the lyric video. It enhanced the listen without getting in the way of the song.

Super vocal ...and lead! HA!

Excellent instrumentation and mix. (of course)

Hi Janice and Bud,

Even watching your video and listening to your music upside down here below the equator, it was really outstanding work. Everything fits snugly and works like a well-oiled machine. The arrangement is genre-perfect, the vocals are exquisite and the video is like the last piece of jigsaw puzzle that, when plugged it into the picture, creates a masterpiece.

I must also compliment Janice on her ad lib and both of you on the skill shown in writing these lyrics. You've painted some terrific images with very cleverly expressed words and rhymes.

This was excellent entertainment.

All the best,
Noel

I liked this one the first time around. Even more now. I've got some catching up to do as far as video is concerned. I don't think that will be happening any time soon. In the meantime I will continue to enjoy everyone's creations. Nice scat lil' sis. Tom

Thanks Pat. Glad you felt the video added to it. And yes it was spontaneous and we debated over whether or not to leave it.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
