Well, I finally got around to checking out the Band In A Box upgrade I purchased last year, and "Oh Magpie" is the result. This song uses a style called _BCJOE85.STY. BmChkJoe 85 2-Beat, which is made up of the following RealTracks: RD: Nashville2Beat^07-a,b:Brushes :Brian Fullen RT1415: Bass, Electric, PopSw16RootFive Sw16 075 , Mark Hill RT2515: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking BoomChickSlowHighJoe Sw16 085 , Joe Robinson RT2516: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking BoomChickSlowJoe Sw16 085 , Joe Robinson The vocals are done by myslef and the harmonies were done with the on-board harmonizer in my Yamaha PSR-3000 keyboard. The saxophone is me, too. I'm not really sure the horn works with this style of a tune, but at least I had quite a bit of fun playing it. Oh Magpie Oh Magpie Magpie magpie sittin' in a tree Magpie magpie squawkin' at me Magpie I know you've got things to say But it's five in the morning why don't you go away Oh magpie In winter snow or summer rain You'll always find a magpie bein' a pain It's what he does And it's what he is That crazy ol' magpie He thinks the world is his Magpie magpie actin' so smart Magpie magpie got a lot of heart Magpie such a pretty bird are you And you make sure everybody knows about it too Oh magpie In winter snow or summer rain You'll always find a magpie bein' a pain It's what he does And it's what he is That crazy ol' magpie He thinks the world is his Magpie magpie what you gonna do Magpie magpie I'm talkin' to you Magpie such a busy guy today But you start so early why won't you go away Oh magpie In winter snow or summer rain You'll always find a magpie bein' a pain It's what he does And it's what he is That crafty ol' magpie He knows the world is his Thanks for listening, Dan

Dan, great fun song. Good lyrics, and toe-tapping beat throughout.

Super fun song sang perfectly! I think that the sax fits perfectly. Great mix here.
The world may be his but the song is yours!
Great job!
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

floyd Thanks, floyd. Great outside the square song writing. Love it. Rob Thanks very much, Rob. Outside the square - as a child I couldn't even stay between the lines in my colouring book. Excellent vocal and listen Thanks, Scott. "Hello" from a fellow Edmontonian! Super fun song sang perfectly! I think that the sax fits perfectly. Great mix here.
The world may be his but the song is yours!
Great job! I appreciate your kind words, Mario. I wasn't really sure if the sax fit in with the acoustic guitars, but I decided to play it anyway. It's what I does and what I is, I suppose. I'm just glad that the Magpie doesn't mind sharing. Love it Dan! Arrangement, vocals, mix all sound great. BTW, that is my sister's nickname. LOL! Glad you liked it, Sundance. Hi Dan,
Funny lyrics, good arrangement and great vocals. Thanks very much, guys! Thanks for listening, Dan

Dan,
This was a terrific listen... here are some of the thoughts that popped into my head as I journeyed along with your singing: "love the beat", "very clever writing", "fantastic melody", "his sax playing is top notch", "brilliant write".
Really enjoyable music.
All the best, Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
