The events in this song are based on a true story which is largely autobiographical.

The tracks.
Drums - RD Hip Hop
Bass - RT 1768
Rhythm guitar - RT 2403
Piano - Country Pop Ballad midi track
Trumpet - RT 1070
Other guitars, piano, percussion and vocals are me.

Everything from start to finish in Realband.

Just A Little Bit Longer
I was having such a good dream when I got the wake-up call
I picked up the alarm clock and I threw it against the wall
With a noise like that how could anyone sleep at all?
No, not a chance.

My wife it seems, she had other ideas instead
She just rolled right over and she kicked me out of bed
She said, "You're just so lazy and you're such a sleepy-head"
"Why don't you go to work".

And I said
"Let me sleep, just a little bit longer"
"Let me sleep, just a little bit longer"
"Let me sleep, just a little bit longer"
"Please!"

I still remember, when we were first wed
She used to bring me my breakfast in bed
Now it seems I've got to go to work instead
What went wrong? Oh what went wrong?

Hey, as usual, grateful to anyone who has the time to listen.

Cheers, ROG.

More genius from you ROG

I read the lyrics first and was intrigued

What a great chorus, and knockout instrumental. I really liked the way the verse is somewhat 'spoken' and the fade out of the chorus at the end. Top stuff.

Great fun song - sorry it's apparently true frown

ROG,

The opening is outstanding - ya had me dancing in my chair right off the bat... the guitar licks there were really nice...

Nice cadence to the lyric. Well executed.

The instrument drop out was especially well done....

Good mix. A fun listen. (several, actually)

ROG,

I laughed out loud because I say to myself "let me sleep just a little bit longer...please..." almost EVERY MORNING...LOL!

Fun and a great sounding track - creative and catchy. And oh so relatable.

Love it.

A nice fun entertaining song Rog with nice guitar lines, really enjoyed the listen.

Topical too, as someone who likes to pull the duvet over my head for an extra few mins.

Great pro mix as usual from you.

You sure put out some good stuff from that studio of yours.

you had me at the intro Rog! This is another highly infectious ROG number that appeals to something in all of us, I suspect! Who doesn't want to sleep just a little bit longer?

I can see this song really catching on if it got air play and a little PR!

I really like the irregular cadence of your vocal delivery... it's very natural and it breaks up the unfortunate sing-songy delivery that often goes along with metered rhyme.

As always, Rog, your songs are among my favourites on the forum, and this one is no exception! You inspire me in many ways, and I thank you for that.

Hi Trevor and many thanks for the review.

Yes, sadly it's all true! My wife says that if sleeping was in the Olympics I'd have a series of gold medals.

ROG,

You never fail to produce those original musical arrangements with a very creative twist and original choruses! On top of that the vocals are always top-notch.
This one is no exception.
Well done!

Hi Floyd.

Always pleased to hear your thoughts. Dancing in your chair? Now there's an image to conjure with!
Listening more than once is always an acceptable complement. Many thanks for that and the kind comments.

Josie! Laughing is good for the soul, so I'm glad it struck a chord with you. (Chord? Ha, see what I did there.) It's good to know I'm not the only one holding on to the duvet every morning! Many thanks for looking in and making me laugh too.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
