This is a great country tune Sergio ! Love it ! Perhaps a "smoother" intro would made it better...

Hi Sergio,

What a great rhythm and beat! The saxophone at the beginning took me by surprise but, when I went back and listened to it, I could hear why you chose it smile This is a terrific listen.

In case this is valuable information for you, I don't know if it's my hearing or my system or Soundclound or intentional from you, but it sounds like there is a sound distortion sitting on top of the already distorted guitar. When you uploaded to Soundcloud, did you use the rendered WAV file or a compressed file? It might be that Soundcloud has introduced audio artifacts when compressing the uploaded file - especially if not enough audio-headroom was present in the sound file.

As I said, I mention the above in case it's useful. The bottom line is that I really enjoyed your music. It's happy, very well composed and very well played. I always like what you do.

All the best,
Noel

Hi Sergio!

This is an enjoyable little tune! It's somewhat unexpected coming from Italy...Maybe Florence South Carolina!

One of the things I like about your instrumentals is that you generally make a point of playing a melody, and that is something that many people who post instrumentals don't do.

I get the impression from listening to your songs that you are really having a LOT OF FUN using Band in a Box to create your music! And that is what this forum is all about: showcasing the end products that grow out of our play time with BIAB! Thanks for taking time to share yours with all of us!

Nice pickin', Sergio.

The sax sounds odd. Like it is out of tempo range for the RT.

Thanks Noel. Glad you like it.
About distortion, maybe I could have something wrong in the final mixing. I upload to Soundcloud always MP3 files

Hey Pat,
I have always liked country music and I got a good collection of country artists.
The problem is it is a bit difficult to play for me. I've bought some courses but really some guitar riffs are crazy. I'm waiting right now for a Chat Atkins's style course and I do not wait to start it.

As we talked in my previous post, because I don't sing, I have to do my guitar singing and so I try to make a melodic line. It's funny and thanks to BIAB you can get excellent results. One thing is real:
since I use BIAB I have really improved my guitar playing. So BIAB has an amusement facility but above all a function of music education.

Thanks for your kindly comment.

Hi Floyd,
thanks for comment.
May be I loaded the sax track and at a later time I changed manually the time selector.
But I don't remember...

Sergio,

Try uploading as a wav file. Soundcloud will compress it to mp3.

I've found that whatever file type I upload, Soundcloud compresses it. This means that if I upload an mp3, it gets compressed again. The net result is that the file goes through two compressions and this can sometimes create artifacts. Also, I always normalise the wav to somewhere between -0.6 and -0.3 dB so that Soundcloud has some audio headroom to do its conversion.

Hope this makes sense,
Noel

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
