Hello, everybody

This is a classic-style song like a German Lied.
I blended Dvorak, Schubert, Mozart and Chopin together to make this song.
I wrote it when I was young.
Comments encouraged.
Have at it.

Best Regards.

Shigeki Adachi

冬のセレナーデ (Translation: Winter Serenade)
Vocal: Chizuko Yoshida (my music circle friend)
Accompanied with piano, cello and the chamber orchestra

Style is ORKALB34.STY
Style MIDI Instruments are:
Acoustic Bass (33) assigned to Contrabass (Piz.),
Acoustic Piano (1) assigned to Grand Piano,
French Horn (61) assigned to French Horns,
Strings (49) assigned to Strings,
Additional piano and cello by myself
All instruments played with Miroslav Philharmonik except piano with Steinberg The Grand

Summary of lyrics

This desolate wintry path extends to the hill the bell of eternity sounds
Under the clear sky and the sunlight in the calm afternoon
What are you thinking about the days gone by beside me

Standing on the earth spinning the sorrow and the joy
I am snuggling close up to you quietly
Even if it is not allowed for me only to touch your finger

A flock of birds has fluttered
How mighty their life forces are
Please tell my prayer with their wings

The sorrow and the joy come and go with the passage of time
Even if everything is fading away
My love will go on with you until the decease of my soul

Absolutely beautiful, Shigeki. The vocal perfectly compliments the piano and strings, and your phenomenal mix and arrangement hold it all together. A real delight, as always.

Shigeki,

Another wonderful piece!

I cannot think of any greater superlatives than have already been said so eloquently in previous replies.

Just to say that I enjoyed it a lot and particularly loved the emotion in Chizuko Yoshida's voice.

Take a bow, you deserve it.

Hello, Hiroshi(ヒロシさん、ありがとうございます), receder, Islansoul and Peter

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I love classic music as well as pop music.
So, sometimes I have wanted to make classic-style songs.
I am so glad to hear you like this song.
And I much appreciate your kind comments for Chizuko's vocal.
No one but she had experienced classic lessons in earnest in my music circle.
She helped me a lot with her vocal this time.
Thanks again to all

Best Regards.

Hello, Torrey

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I 'd rather like winter songs than summer songs.
So, I often write songs with winter scenes.
This song is one of them.
I am so glad to hear you like it.
I also like your song "It's Not Too Late" very much.

Best Regards.

Hi Shigeki Adachi,

This is so beautiful. Your melody making skills are awesome! The melody you've composed would fit perfectly in the Romantic period.... it reminds me of Mendelssohn in some places, Chopin in other places and then there are those appogiaturas that are so characteristic of Mozart. You've done a great job!

My compliments to your vocalist, too. Chizuko Yoshida's singing sits very comfortably with your music. She has a mesmerising voice. I hope I get to hear her again sometime.

All the best,
Noel.

P.S. Apologies for being a little late in getting to this.
