This is Austin from our CD "Dreams"
I hope you enjoy the song. Any and all comments are appreciated as your responses help me in developing my craft. Again, thanks to Band in a Box, and the talent at PG Music, I could not do this, if they were not incredible at what they do.

Austin
Ken Mattox/Steve Mattox

Gazing at the Amarillo morning watching all the planes wave goodbye
Don’t know if I told you but I’m sure you know, I’m gonna miss you when you’re gone

Seems like the days are never ending, nights last forever in my head
Drink away the sorrow with another bottle of wine; try to think about our better times

Think I’ll head to Austin for the summer, grow my hair and play some Willie songs
Disappear in the indie nights, sleep beneath the neon lights
Find a place where I can be alone

I can picture you and I just living, making pearls out of beads of sweat
Guitar player beating out memories of you let the music occupy my mind

Think I’ll head to Austin for the summer, grow my hair and play some Willie songs
Disappear in the indie nights, sleep beneath the neon lights
Find a place where I can be alone

Austin doesn’t seem to be that far down the road; honky tonks are taking away my load
Between the lone star days and barley wine, I’ll never think of you at all

Gazing at the Amarillo morning, watching all the planes heading north
Try to guess the silver bird you’re flying on, red lights flashing in my eyes

Think I’ll head to Austin for the summer, grow my hair and play some Willie songs
Disappear in the indie nights, sleep beneath the neon lights
Find a place where I can be alone

Think I’ll head to Austin for the summer, grow my hair and play some Willie songs
Disappear in the indie nights, sleep beneath the neon lights
Find a place where I can be alone

Think I’ll head to Austin for the summer, grow my hair and play some Willie songs
Disappear in the indie nights, sleep beneath the neon lights
Find a place where I can be alone

Another cool song! As with your other mixes, I feel it is a little high on the verb and could be tightened. That's an esthetic thing though and a matter of taste. It is a catchy and pleasant song with some cool lines. Good job!! Take care. Greg

cool song. I've never been to Austin. Been to Texas but that's one huge state.

The reverb is kinda heavy making this sound like it's recorded in a big hollow room. Since it's on a CD it's probably a done deal and not going to be remixed. It is what it is at this point regarding the mix. The next song started to play and it sounds very similar in it's overall sound quality.

Just a heads up for future projects. Maybe before you release anything new, run a few selected tunes past some third party ears that you trust.

Just my 2 cents and personal opinion. Others may think differently.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
