Hello folks.
I decided to do as Misha recommended and use a better quality streaming service. I've attempted to place the track on Bandlab and HOPE that I clicked the right buttons so that the place didn't do anything to it other than upload and set for streaming.
the UK based M.E. did a fine job on the track, I think.
He recommended a couple of tweaks before accepting the track, (address a slight wobble in levels early in, some probs with the timing of the hihats - needed to reduce the level of them as I couldn't do anything else in RealDrums), etc.
Well, here's the mastered post your thoughts and the ME's work.

It's been suggested, elsewhere, that bandlab is also having a mash so here's a link to download if you'd care for a better quality listen...

Here's a, seemingly, better level on Soundcloud.

Nicely done! This tune absolutely soars - I love how much energy it has, and the groove is fantastic. It's the kind of tune that really hits you in the chest, and has some amazing grit to it. I can imagine this sounding excellent in a live setting.

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing smile

It is a super big guitar sound, driving the track hard.
I often loss the vocal in that sound, which doesn't necessarily matter for this style, it likely would come out with repeated listens.

There is an occasional Moody-Blues-vibe that is quite cool.

Heavy.

Sounds huge!

The other link you posted at the bottom, to soundcloud, is that the identical file? Man, what a difference.

Excellent song as I said before with the unmastered version, love everything about it.

Hi Ray
Well that was a surprise. A very nice one I might add. What a fantastic production. Well done!

Ray,
I got to admit, I am a little confused. To me, Bandlab version is closer to the original (downloaded file), but soundcloud version has more clarity. I think all of the services use some sort of volume equalization. Probably comes down to personal preference. The tune is very nice regardless. It feels, you put a lot of effort into it. Thank you for sharing and for side by side comparison option!

Misha.

Great BIG sound - Bandlab sounds louder & more compressed on my `phones than SoundCloud.
This would be overpowering ( in a good way) live and cranked.

Loved the slightly dissonant harmony of the vocals relative to the instruments - added tension keeping the song very interesting. Liked the ad-lib FXs/spoken vocal at the end. Enjoyed the listen.

I'm with floyd jane her - the vocal seems low, but it's not really an issue in this style.

Big sound!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Same question?

Man, talk about filling up a room! Wow. The vocal level sounded good to us. I'm clueless as to how you can mix something like this and keep a great soundstage. I'd end up with a room full of mud.

Excellent! Anthemic!

Thanks folks,
YES all links are to the same file AND that file was/is a 24bit .wav!!!
Vocal levels are a personal taste thing I suppose &/or genre specific - on this I indulged my preference for lower levels in a genre taht requires the same. Personally I can hear them well but it may be because I know the lyrics and the problem with those lyrics is they're obtuse, obdurate and opaque.
THANK YOU ALL.

Cheers

Sounds huge - some nice heavy guitars and vocals.
Sounded better on headphones than speakers to me.

Hi Ray,

This is so different from anything that I write that I don't know where to begin!

The sound is immense and I love how you have the panning moving around from left to right and back again. Your production skills are outstanding!

Kudos to everyone involved with this. The final product must have brought some huge smiles to the collaborators!

Awesome work!
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
