ADDED THE SOUNDCLOUD LINK

Soundcloud Link: Just Another Thing

Songtradr link removed.

I've not had much time to work on new music, so here's one I wrote about a year ago, I think, but never posted here. It's a light, easy Sax piece. Will post the BIAB tracks as soon as I find them. Hope you enjoy.

Alan

Hi Alan,

It seems there is a problem with your link, I just end up on the main songtradr.com page.

Do you need an account over there maybe??

Okay ... I'll load it up on Soundcloud. I didn't realize you had to be a member of Songtradr to listen. It should be on Soundcloud within the hour.

Sorry about the confusion. At least I learned something! Thanks for letting m e know ...

Alan

Cool tune Alan. Loved the sax. I am really starting to love this style of music. My mom and dad always had this kind of music playing

Hi Alan,

Scott has mowed the grass before my feet by telling his parents had this music playing. Although he's much older than me, my father was grazy about this kind of music. Because of that I wasn't. But that is turning. And I also loved how that sax played.
A nice melody and very good performed or mixed.

You've put together a very beautiful late night jazz classic here Alan.

This really has all the moves. Smooth, and sweet.

Hi Alan,

This is such a wonderfully smooth listen. As Videotrack so accurately describes, it's terrific 'Late Night Jazz'.

I'm sitting here inside a 1940s club in my mind. Couples are lazily swaying their way around a dimly lit dance floor and the jazz band sits on a slightly raised stage. The piano player has a drink on top of his piano and there's cigarette smoke gently twisting it's way up from an ashtray on the piano player's right.

That such vivid images appeared in my mind and that they were created only by sound shows how wonderful this instrumental is. It "took" me back in time with such authenticity and clarity. Thank you!

I would love to have heard your military band. It must have been incredible!

How is Di? I sincerely hope that her journey is treating her with respect and kindness. You are both such a talented couple.

Can I ask favour... when you get a chance, please consider posting a song that you and Di have done. It doesn't matter if it's been on the forum once (or more) already -- and whether or not it uses Band In A Box. There are a lot of people here now who will not have heard Di.

May good things find you and Di,
Noel

Hello Noel ...

Hope all is well in the Land of Oz. As you head into summer, we, here in the States, are headed into winter. It's been downright cold here in Northern Alabama!

Wow ... that scene you depicted is exactly congruent to my intentions and "mental movie". As I write a song ... and it gets along in the development stages ... I always have a mental movie playing in my head that portrays the kind of scene the song would capture in a movie. That happens for me 99% of the time. If your description and my mental movie were played simultaneously, they would be so close that either of us could rightfully claim plagiarism!

Thank you so much for the terrific review and support. It means a lot ... seriously.

With a new medical team and laborious effort from Di, she is doing better than she has in several years. The attention and treatment she needs, and receives, takes a lot of effort on everyone's part, and a lot of time. But, it's all worth it to see her smiling and interacting with her surroundings again. She's still not strong enough to sing, but hopefully early next year. Thank you for the kind wishes.

Your latest post is killer! That was quite a warm treat. Thanks for the pleasure. Wishing you everything good ...

Alan & Di

Alan,

A very nice light jazz tune!
Alto saxophone fits this song very much and creates an urban atmosphere.
The characteristic chord progression of jazz, IIm7 -V7 is skillfully used everywhere, making it very classy.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Yeoman work here. I'd love to trade notes on how you come up with chords for your melodies, I have several ways of doing it and they all involve a struggle, at least for me. Again, nice work on this, I enjoyed it.
