Very different! I absolutely love what you have done with this, Great writing, excellent vocal, and the track is very cool indeed! The jackhammer sound might be a bit too loud during the intro, but I’m just listening on my iPad at the moment so I might be wrong about that. My new favourite from you, well done

That opening verse is so good:
Jack that hammer in the noon day sun Body all a quiver like a dame with a gun Lines floating girders in the sky o'erhead Foreman'll use you til you're nearly dead
I like the telephone vocal effects and stripped down backing ( great use of the tabla loop)... and that you resisted breaking out of the form to make it heavier as it went ( though I confess I`d like to hear a version that veers to hard rock as well!). Very original and creepy cool.

What a pleasant surprise! Different ... but in so many entertaining ways. The vocal effect is great! And the backing tracks really power the song along. Totally loved it! Nice work, my friend!
Wishing you the best. Be safe.

"Two weeks severance and you're out in the street, Wrapped around a bottle and stumbling on your feet, Nothing in the fridge and the bills need payin Your buddy's jokes just ain't worth the sayin"
Yowzers! That and all the lyric is both very creative and cool.
Kinda reminded us initially of a field chant or a chain gang song but then Janice nailed it saying it reminded her of some of the music in Peaky Blinders ... and that is high praise indeed.
Nothing is out of place. The great lyric is perfectly delivered with the vocal (and fx) and the groove is simply mesmerizing in a very positive way. And you wrapped it up in a really good mix.
One of the more creative and engaging posts on the forum!

Everything to really like and enjoy. Not sure the sound effect was necessary...over stating the obvious? I'd have skipped the cello to keep it street ready but that's me.

T.M. Very interesting and unusual track! Liked it a lot. Mono voice sounds great! Fun use of FX. I do not believe I ever heard blues with tabla drums Thank you for sharing! Misha.

Your vocals are channeling Dylan here, to my ears and the lyric isn't far behind. Wowser. Inventive arrangement (to put it mildly), yet that bell gonging on one note is so completely appropriate. A genuine pleasure to listen to.

Thanks, everyone, for the very positive comments!! This is another that I had no idea if it would be received well, just because it's so different. As always, I am grateful for any feedback, and always give it the utmost consideration. Thanks again, all!

@TuneMonger - I just love this song. Brilliant. Wildly creative. Incisive. Powerful. Mesmerizing. Bravo for being bold and daring and creating something really innovative. You have absolutely captured some of the power of the masters here, Bob Dylan for one, as already noted. I would have mixed it a bit differently, but at the same time, I don't believe in messing with success, so I'll leave that to you. Keep up the great work! Going back for another listen now ...

WOW! Quite creative. Very original, TuneMonger. Man, this os sop cool. Inspirational. Lyrics are perfect for that shoulders-to-the-ears feeling. Don't listen to those who say the jackhammer is too loud. hehe. I never heard a jackhammer that wasn't.

TuneMonger,
This is a clever use of BIAB and well written lyrics! You've almost invented a new style here...sort of a Latin Blues type sound if you will!! Nice job! Thanks, Torrey

What a sound, very inventive blues, very modern in Billie Eilish way... that agogo creates very good image of the continuous working. Tabla and cello add mystic feeling to the present day slavery lyrics. I enjoyed the vocal performance and how it is mixed, very gloomy.

It has a dark, Indian, Rasta kind of vibe going on. And the telephone vocals are a perfect fit for the song.
One of the more unique projects I have heard this year.
That's a good job you done did there.

Hi TuneMonger,
I can actually hear this as the lead in song for some quirky movie about a bumbling construction worker that somehow uncovers an old safe full of money...LOL
It kind of hearkens back to the old Victrola era at the same time has a twinge of fusion in it...
It's always nice to hear something different once in a while.
Thanks for posting it.
