Hi all,
With this rock ballad, David again made me benefit from his talents as an author and performer.

https://soundcloud.com/christian-devienne/leave-me-softly

I never knew you felt so empty
I never meant to make you cry
I know for all my sins
One day there’ll be a reckoning
And you might hurt me with goodbye

But you ain’t got the kind of heart to kill me, baby
You would never play the part of pain
If you wanna go then let me know real easy
If you’re gonna leave, baby won’t you leave me softly

I can’t blame you for your anger
I’ve got my own faults to face
So you have every right
To lash out, girl, with all your might
And make me pay for my mistakes

I know the wrongs I’ve done
The countless times I’ve cut and run
So what should I expect
But to die a million little deaths
But your a kinder soul
You could never be as cold
So when you want to strike and flee
Just remember you ain’t me

I hope you know how much I’m sorry
How much I need you by my side
And if you ever find the nerve
To end me, love, like I deserve
It’s only fair I let you try

But you ain’t got the kind of heart to kill me, baby
You would never play the part of pain
If you wanna go then let me know real easy
If you’re gonna leave, baby won’t you leave me softly

This is one of the best rock ballads I have heard in a long time

I could feel your pain

Outstanding vocal, lyrics, lead guitar, and mix

This is top shelf all the way

Loved it

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Nice song! Can't go wrong with that vocal. Good writing too. I might have upped the volume on the lead guitar some, but still, it's sounds good as it stands. Thanks for the chance to listen.

Mario, Brad, Andi and Peter:

Thanks folks for giving this one a spin. Christian does such a great job creating the music, and it's always a lot of fun trying to write the lyrics to it. A much different process for me, as I typically write the music and lyrics at the same time (for the most part at least). It's such a privilege to collaborate with someone as talented as Christian!

Brad: You may be right about the electric solo needing to come forward a bit--I'm curious to see what others think. Thanks for the constructive comment!

My best to you all,

Deej

Thank you all for your nice comments, smile
As suggested by Brad, I've increased a bit the volume level of the solo electric guitar.

..and he sure benefitted from you talent, too, Chris. Great collab. Man, Deej can sing. Excellent lyrics and band. I'd turn up the solo a bit more, but who needs my opinion? All of the guitars work well together. So good, guys.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Marty,

Thanks much for the listen and comment. I think Chris has subsequently turned up the solo, so hopefully it's in a better place. Appreciate the kind words and helpful feedback.

Stay well!

You guys could write and sing the phone book and it'd sound brilliant. And this is far from being "just the phone book". What a nuanced, dark, intelligent write. Well done to both of you! It's so different to write the lyrics to already written music, yes; but what a great end result, however you two did it. So much talent on this board. Bravi.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
