So sorry. Two songs in quick succession. I'm not trying to flood the forum, I promise - and I will make it up to everyone by listening to twice as many songs as I usually manage to listen to, since it's the weekend and I actually have a quiet Sunday coming up. Anyway - see what you think? Thanks for listening and for any and all comments!

Full of Grace (the full version, with lyrics)

LYRICS:

Ave, Maria, gratia plena,
Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.

Ave, Maria, gratia plena,
Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,
ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
nunc et in hora mortis nostrae.

Nunc et in hora mortis nostrae.

Amen.

James, you have a very unique style that you pull off perfectly

Super spoken word with an outstanding backing band

Great mix

Two thumbs up

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Well, James, I for one was quite happy to see two of yours right at the top of the forum this morning. Very well done like only you can do.

Enjoy whatever happens!

James,

Interesting.

There is a boominess/roominess to the vocal that sounds like it might be from the reverb choice? Don't know for sure, but your last sung vocal was a lot clearer and more intimate. I think that would work for this.
Just an opinion, of course.

James,
I enjoyed the melody ( it might be traditional as I`m out of my depth on sacred music, but it flows nicely) and the piano works well.
The spoken word sounds like a private prayer overheard; the closeness of the mic accentuates that which I think was intentional.
Your style continues to be very original and quietly devotional.

Hi, James !

Wonderful tune reminded
me of the days I used to sing
Palestrina ! I must say that
your playing is superb !

Cheers

Hey there James,

Nice melody and I too liked that piano. It really sticks out there. I also agree with Robert, you've got it sounding like a personal prayer.

Very cool Dan. Put a smile on my face when your lyrics in latin. Took me back to grade 8 and my latin classes. Backtrack was a really good choice for this prayer. Well done...

Marty: THANK YOU.

floyd: Yes, it's a thought - I'll play around with the reverb and see what I like. I wanted it to sound like a whisper in a cathedral, but I'll re-visit it and see what I can do (if anything) to make it sound more like that! Thanks for listening and for such kind comments!

Robert: you, I think, really get what I'm trying to do here. For that, I can only be so grateful, especially as I really admire your own sensitivity in your own musicianship, and the way that that translates into songs. Thanks so much - it's an honour for me to have your comments on my songs.

Dani: I used to sing Palestrina, Lassus, etc., too! haha. What memories. I'm afraid the piano playing is not mine, I can't play the piano anywhere near as good as the piano RT player ... but I know a good piano player when I hear one, if that helps :-) Thanks so much for your kind words!

Brad: thank you!!!

Scott: thanks. I was dithering on whether to use Latin or English for this one, but ... I eventually plumped for the former ... hope it was the right choice! Thanks so much for listening and for your kind comments!

Bud's high school when he attended lost its accreditation for a while due to no Latin teacher ... so smile

We rarely quote from other's responses but Robert expressed it so well:
'The spoken word sounds like a private prayer overheard."

Well done and the tracks are very supportive and well mixed.

Kudos!

Very nice job on this James! I love the peaceful backing you put together for this track! It suits the theme perfectly! Nice mix with the vocal also! Thanks, Torrey

Janice, Bud, Torrey: thanks so much. The story of Bud's high school losing accreditation because of a lack of a Latin teacher made me smile :-) I'm so happy the song seems to have hit its intended target - "a private prayer overheard" is beautifully expressed from Robert (and kindly quoted from you, Janice and Bud) and yes, that was the intended aim of it. So happy you liked it!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
