Hello.
This is my latest song and it is out on Spofity from today. It's also on YouTube and all other places where music is put.

https://open.spotify.com/track/5tgCSHMPOkiebBFFzb7Ahy?si=9cd4a02be3b04f86

Here is the story how it is made:

I wanted a latin style groove and had the idea to change between major and minor in feeling, and also change keys a few times. Actually there are four key changes in less than the two minutes the song last. I always try to keep everything around two minutes. The key changes are between A minor and C minor so even if it is three steps it fits well in harmony.

I picked tempo 120 and style _GUAJIRA.STY which has some great musicians and groove.
This is the ground verse.
|a) Am7| D7| G7| CMaj7 E7| A7| D7| G7| CMaj7 Em7|
|a) Am7...| Bm/A..| C/A| D/A...| FMaj7/A..d| G/A...d| E7| A7sus..d|

After that I tried the funktion to create an Intro in Jazz style, 4 bars, and tried it several times until I found some cool chords I liked. Then I manually changed them three Keys so I got the first key change right after the intro.

Next step was to pick BLUE and GREEN boxes for different groove. Then I used the very cool function CHORD OPTIONS and there put in some HOLD and SHOT chords. Sometimes with the exceptions for the drums.

When I was happy with everything in BIAB I exported the instruments to Garageband using DAW. Then I started creating the melody on guitars. This time I kept all instruments, ofter times I play everything except the drums. Short about the mixing in Garageband I often put comp guitar and piano right and left around 35 and drums and bass in the middle. If I only play one guitar it's also in the middle but when I play two at at the same time I have them at 15 right and left.

That's about it. To get it on Spotify I use Rotenote where I have put many songs now, alla short instrumental in blues, rock, jazz, latin etc. Remember to have a copyright free photo if you put songs there.

Hope you enjoy and someone got inspiration and some ideas.
Regards
Sören Ahlbäck

Excellent use of BiaB, and explanation, Sören. Yep, it was a short tune and I played it twice --so far. Now I'm onto the rest of your tunes. Excellent throughout.

Enjoy whatever happens!

I also think you did some cool stuff here, especially the holds and shots work very well.

I like it smile

The perfect combination of a Santana lead and some jazz style chord progressions.
Excellent masterpiece.
Outstanding guitar chops.
Outstanding chord progression.
Great mix.
I really liked this one.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Appreciated!! The Santana feeling is somehow stock in the head since the 70s. I love his tone.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
