So, I'm going to be just a little bit naughty here ... this song was not written with Band-in-a-Box.

The only reason I post it up on here is because I wrote it with the National Health Service (NHS) of the United Kingdom, as well as health workers around the world, in mind ... hope you enjoy it all the same and forgive me this little aberration of mine. If this is not acceptable, I will take it down :-)

A little explanation: people have been creating rainbow pictures, etc., here in the UK recently, in order to symbolise their support for the NHS. Musicians have been playing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" out of their windows, etc. . Sadly, that song is still in the public domain, so I could not arrange it with BIAB as was my original thought ... so I decided to write an original ... for what it's worth, here it is.

THE RAINBOW

You know, there is a rainbow
Shining strong tonight
Across the dark skies
In the evening light.

It shines for the angels
Who of us take care;
Who, amidst the danger,
Care enough to dare.

It shines for the heroes
Who saved us again;
If we are alive
It is down to them.

It shines for all those
Who the pain endure;
It shines for all those
Fighting for a cure.

It shines in the dark
Of the bygone day,
Promising a better
Future, come what may.

For whenever we
Feel the pain's too strong
The heroes stand and
Whisper "carry on".

***

Yes, there is a rainbow
Shining through the night;
It's the light of those
Who help us win this fight.

So, though times be hard
And dreams seem so few,
The world will rise
To say: "thank you".

Because you have gifted
Our lives anew
This whole world will rise
To say to you: "thank you".
