I don't understand how the filter works in the real track Picker.
For example, if I filter on "Arpeggio", 6 instruments are returned, but only one with arpeggios. Others concerns Hold chords!!
Why are these 5 instruments are listed in this case? I just find the term "Arpeggio" in the memo field for the fist instrument. Which fields does the filter apply to? is the memo field one of them? How to search for instruments playing in arpeggios? Is is possible to combibne severals filters (for exemple Arpeggio + Piano)?
I just tested out your example "arpeggio" in Band-in-a-Box 2021 for Windows on build 825, and doing a search for "arpeggio" using the filter section at the bottom brings up one instrument: Guitar, Baritone Electric, Rhythm Slow12-8ArpTremoloBrent Sw 040. Is this the same one you are referring to that you personally found? The memo field provided the following information:
"This baritone electric guitar RealTrack is playing a slow 12/8 arpeggio style with a swing feel at a slow ballad tempo. The baritone electric guitar has a deep tone and, when combined with the arpeggio style, it blends well with RealTracks in a higher range. There is notation available for this RealTrack in the Notation Window and the Lead Sheet Window and you can view the playing on the fretboard in the Guitar Window. There is a simple version available which can be selected in the RealTracks Picker or from the track drop-down menu.
Tempo Range: 35 - 65"
I would recommend downloading and installing the latest patch update for your version of Band-in-a-Box from the link below, then trying your search again:
If this doesn't fix the issue, try hitting "show all", then type in your search again in "filter by".
To answer your other questions, using the "filter by" option at the bottom of the RealTracks Picker dialog will filter the list based on the text you type in the edit control. You can type several search terms, separated by spaces, in any order. For example, you can type in 'Country 120 Ev', and it will show you the options.
If after the patch update you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to our tech support team directly at support@pgmusic.com, or use the "Live Help" button at the top of our website on the right hand side. One of our technicians would be more than happy to assist you with any additional questions you may have.
Hi Riccoboni, the Filter box applies to the Memo field as well as Realtrack name, instrument, artist, set, and other fields.
It is possible to combine separate searches, as the box would search arpeggio AND piano in your example. Rather than searching Arpeggio though, I'd suggest searching Arp as most of the time the Realtrack name has abbreviations.
I am well in the last build of BIAB 2021 Pro for Windows (825) and I do as requested (show all, then filter by "Arpeggio") and the list returns 6 instruments of which 5 do not seem to contain the Arpeggio chain (see attached file).
I suspect a bug in some context (pack not installed or other ...).

Most Realtracks that feature arpeggios are listed as "Arp". Searching for "Arpeggio" will not find them, you need to search for "Arp" instead.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
