This is an awesome video! Thanks for posting this, it really helped clarify why I always mess up when singing along to Chiquitita.

I listen to a lot of jazz, prog, and metal, and it's nice to know a bit more about what exactly is catching my ear and making me want more when there's a time signature change.

Prog metal and ABBA...are we twins? I think ABBA is SO underrated as a band.

Thanks for posting the video!

By the way, not exactly the chorus; but as close as you can get without being the chorus. I was just learning how to drum and the measure of 2/4 with a triplet in it has this guy totally confused as to what was going on. I sat and counted, and counted...then learned you can change time signatures in a song. Big "WOW!" moment.

I have no idea why it's not showing it. Maybe because I put a specific time to start at?

Time stamp doesn't work on the PG Forums and you put the whole URL in. You only put in the YouTube specific code for that video:

Does this count?

On a band I played in, we did a cover of Lucille by Kenny Rogers that switched to 4/4 in the choruses.

Talk about screwing up the folks on the dance floor.......

This guy’s videos are great.

My example that threw me for a month or so before I gigged this song is Mat Kearney’s “Nothing Left to Lose” which has 4/4 4/4 3/4 4/4, repeated twice each chorus.

Once I got it down it was fine but dang it took me a long time to figure it out! I think it’s one of the things that really makes me love that song.

Not only is this video great so is the song.

Thanx for sharing.

PS - I'm gonna have to check more of his songs.
