What's up with audio recording, new bugs tied to the update to avoid hearing audio when replacing old take ...

Case 1
start new song
arm track for monitoring
mixer window: audio channel label highlights in orange, audio is monitored
audio edit window: audio channel in grey
record audio
nothing ...

Case 2
save song from case 1
disable/uncheck arm track for audio monitoring
mixer window: audio channel label highlighted in orange, audio is not monitored
audio edit window: audio channel highlighted in orange
record audio
nothing ...

Case 3
old song with existing audio recording
new recording with no overdub, i.e. replace
retain audio past last recorded - either check/unchecked always keeps old audio

Case 4
on occasions with old audio recordings a new recording ends after some 10 bars

Is it just me ... ???

Can you give more details about the monitoring settings and also the settings to record the audio.

Your explanation doesn't mention the Record Audio Dialog Window or it's settings.

Many thanks for your comments!

No problems with audio settings.

Troubles initially started with saving an audio recording with or without "Retain audio past last recorded" as it did not seem to work as expected.

I then started a new song to have a fresh start for further testing.
An audio recording was made and saving was done with unchecked "Retain ..."
The logic in BIAB is then, as there is just an empty .wav file, that it will not save anything.
There is a default setting when you initially save with a checked "Retain ..." which seems like a quick SW fix for resolving this operating case. Could be improved in functionality, e.g. check file size and grey-out the "Retain ..." option.

But still the "Retain ..." option does not work, it never deletes any audio after the latest take!

Appreciate comment from PG Music.

Thanks for clarifying your setup. With the additional information you provided, I would do a 'return to factory settings' and restart the program and that may clear the glitch you're having with saving. Otherwise, you also may want to contact PG Staff on live chat.

I already tested the reset to factory settings and also reverted back to previous version but it was not a part of the problem.
