Anyway.

Have taken a RT, generate its track.
1. Did Edit/copy move tracks function.

Was having trouble setting mutes/back to normal.
The (1.) move freezes the new midi track automatically.
The mute normal wasn't working because the track was frozen.
No sweat methinks, so unfroze track, regened the song.
And the beautiful flute sounds had been regened, or modified
somehow. Still following chords, but lost this #2 midi melody.

Am guessing the auto-freeze was forced to protect the special
midi track.

Any info would be appreciated.

Are you working on the Soloist track? I've noticed that that's the one that seems to have auto-freeze. Since it's a RT, it might pay trying one of the other tracks. Also, have you thought about using Realband? This might offer you lots more versatility for your project.

My "learnt" work process keeps me working in BIAB as much as
possible. Been using RB for only mixing and finalizing the
BIAB wav renders.

But.......your suggestion did re-ignite something I've already
done. Render extra tracks by using two different versions of
same piece of work. Then finalize mixing in RB.
Reasons are different, but results same.

This will nicely resolve the changes.

Frank, you need to expand your horizons. This is just the latest "discovery" some just found in Real Band. It's been available since last year:
