Hi, folks.

I haven't posted here since 2008 - even forgot my username/password so created a new one now. Also, sorry if this isn't a forum question. I app

I'm ready to buy the newest version 2013. What I wanted to know is:
a.) can I install BIAB on both my desktop AND laptop?
b.) If not, is there a discount if you buy two, or another license?

I have four hour daily commute by train, and that's four uninterrupted hours where I can compose with BIAB on my laptop.
Thanks,
Dave

My Desktop is where I have all my hardware gear for recording into Sonar Producer, and all my post-production engineering software, like waves diamond and/or Sound Forge. BUT, I also like to compose with BIAB on the desktop because I have much better sound quality with my studio monitors instead of my laptop soundcard and headphones.
Welcome back Hagstrom,

New release for 2014 will probably be early to mid December this year. You will save a lot by waiting to buy in that sale. If you have bought biab before you can just buy the 2014 ultra pak upgrade which has all the realtracks and realdrums.

There should be no problem installing both to your desktop and laptop as you will only be able to use one version at a given time.

So you only need to buy one version.

Yup, talk to the Sales department about this. They are great about making sure you get what you need at the best price. The whole PG Music is about serving their customers, and they will treat you right.

No need to have two separate installs, which means no situation where the one song you wanted to work on is back at the desktop when you want to work on the song on the laptop.

Do what I do, order the program on the USB hard drive and simply do the minimal install of plugins, fonts and softsynth(s) onto the C: drive of each and then take the USB drive from one to another.

The USB drive works fine, because it does not do audio streaming in realtime from disk when using the Realtracks, they load into RAM for each song and then play from there.

OR -- if you have the disk space, you can indeed choose to install everything separately to each as well, just be advised that if you're like me, the work will be on one when you wish to work on another. You could use the USB drive to transfer songs and songs you are working on, though.

Hagstrom, I think many of us have a workflow similar to yours and have one purchase of BIAB.

I get around the problem of having the wrong version of a song by saving anything I'm working on to Dropbox.

Hi Musiclover, has there been an announcement from PG Music on a 2014 release that I might have missed?
Thanks, everyone. Very helpful and I intended to upgrade from my 2005 version either way.

But that just makes me more comfortable.

Dave
Another welcome back plus a suggestion . . . I was thinking maybe if you contacted PG Music they could get you back online with your old username just in case you wanted to pick up where you left off.

There will be no announcement from PG music about any forthcoming releases until such times as the 2014 version is ready to start Flying off the Shelves.

Further more as I understand it the beta testers are not allowed to comment either as regards any release.

That has always been PG music's policy, unless they change it this year.

It has always been the policy to release a new version in time for Santa, leaving the .5 version aside (unless someone can point out a year to me that it was otherwise in which case I stand corrected) and as you are probably aware it is possible to save a tonne of money in that sale, which I feel is only fair to make potential buyers aware of when they enquire.

Hi Musiclover, thanks.
Taking on board the 2 things you mentioned:

"New release for 2014 will probably be early to mid December this year"
and
"There will be no announcement from PG music about any forthcoming releases until such times as the 2014 version starts Flying off the Shelves."

OK... I think I understand...

Kind regards

No prob Videotrack, liked your tutorial as well when you replied to another poster about adding images to a post.

I hadn't tried that before so your know-how came in handy.

Thanks

Hi Musiclover, Thanks for the feedback and you're very welcome.

Hadn't heard from the O/P on any success or otherwise, but presumably he's got everything under control.

Regards
