Hi everyone,
I've just installed my BB 2018 after I had to set up my PC again. I still have all my Real Tracks and Real Drums on a seperate SSD. Now after having installed BB 2018 - and referencing in the RealTracks preferences to this custom folder - BB just lists the new 2018 RTs as available, although all the old ones are in that same Real Tracks folder.

Do I have to kind of install from the old 2017 version over it? I mean, the files are all there, the reference points to the correct folder on the external HD and still BB 2018 lists them as not available.

Thanks for your help,
Sandra
Hi Sandra,

In order for a RealTrack to work, there needs to be audio files in the RealTracks folder, and ST2/XT2 files in the BB folder.

If you install your 2018 version to a new BB folder (instead of installing it over your previous version), then all the ST2 and XT2 files needed for your older RealTracks won't be present.

You'll need to install your previous version, then install 2018 to the same folder.

Thanks
Kent

The first thing I would do is to make sure you have NO filters applied; that can easily limit what you see. Assuming you are showing "everything", I would verify that "ALL" the RealTracks and "ALL" the RealDrums are actually on your external drive (RT's in the "RealTracks" folder and RD's in the "Drums" folder).

Also, do you have the external USB drive version of BIAB or the PlusPak version. The PlusPak expects to see the previous version of BIAB installed and just installs the new files over it. I you just installed the Plus Pak, that could be the reason you are only seeing 2018 content. That being the case, you would need to re-install 2017, then apply the PlusPak to 2018.

If you did install from a USB drive, then I would run BIAB and make sure that it is pointing to the correct drive letter and folder for your RD's and RT's.

I would then exit BIAB, run the latest update patch, run the latest RealTracks update patch (and make sure the correct folders are set.

Also remember that when you do the "install" of updates, you specify a folder one level higher than where the RealTracks and RealDrums folders actually are; however, when you specify the location within BIAB, you specify the exact location of the folders.

I would then go in and rebuild the RealTracks list, and also the RealDrums list. I would then do a full (not the quick) rebuild of the StylePicker list as well.

Make sure you have "Show N/A" checked and if anything shows up as N/A, that can give you a hint as to where the problem may lay.

You shouldn't have to re-install BIAB 2017; if all your previous RTs/RDs were on the external drive to start with, the install you did of BIAB 2018 will just add those files to that drive (as long as you specified the locations properly during install - see my note above).

Good luck.
Ah ok, I think I understand what's going on. I have NOT installed the BB 2017 app, just the 2018 Plus pack. So, as you nice guys suggested, I need to install 2017 and then 2018 over it. Will do that.

Thanks so much for your help <3

Sandra
Yes, that should do it.

The PlusPak consists of only the new stuff since the previous version and is designed to be installed over the previous version. You may have all the RealTrack/RealDrums on a separate drive, but in order to access those tracks, you need the corresponding ST2 and XT2 files that tell BIAB about the tracks. Those would carry forward from the previous version (and the PlusPak would add any new information).
While we wait to hear the result, I’m wondering if running the Cleanup utility would solve this.
Everythings working superb now. I reinstalled 2017 and 2018 on top. I wonder, if I could have somehow just copied the ST2/XT2 files (from what source - I don't know).

What I find interesting is that BB now accepts my ASIO (RME) driver set down to 64 samples. The 2018 install I had on the machine before the new setup, had me to raise it up to 256 samples or BB just wouldn't start playing.

Thanks for your help!

Sandra
Hi Sandra,

I'm glad to hear it's working!

Regarding the buffer size, it sounds like the computer is running a lot faster now. That's a surprisingly big difference.

Cheers
