Is the VST plug-in programming and coding making better use of
the new computers with more multi-cores and multi-threads to process the real instruments parallel to each other instead of sequentially as it does now.

Well, i bought a then expensive Intel® Socket 2011-v3 Core™ i7 (6 they say) 5 years ago. Definitely runs a lot better than the Intel® Socket 1366 Core™ i had before that.
