Hi all

I sent in a support ticket a week ago but didn't get a reply, perhaps
it got lost so I will post my problem here.

I have biab 2015. Whichever computer I use, (one is windows 7 other is windows 10 ) I click "Play Jukebox" It opens a window and I choose my tune collection file from the directory. I click "play jukebox" and another window opens to choose soloist, usually it's fiddle.

I just click okay and it goes to the main screen. It generates random tune in my collection and plays it properly.

After the tune is over, it generates another random tune and starts playing it but there is no sound. It keeps playing until the end and generates another tune which plays but no sound

The first tune played properly but the second and the rest are mute.
It has worked properly for years, but something much have changed recently, perhaps in the directory.

Does anybody have a fix for this?

Thanks
Jack
Welcome to the forums.

I don't know the cause, but I would certainly try a 'Return to Factory settings' from the Options menu as a starting point. Please let us know if this resolves.

I went back in to try it again and when I click jukebox a window came up to choose
the directory but also choose what instrument plays the solo. I don't need a soloist
as I'm the soloist and biab as backup.

I noticed the generate soloist box was checked. I unchecked it and tried and it worked perfectly.
Just for experiment purposes, I went back to the play jukebox button again and when the directory
window opened I checked the generate soloist box. It opened to the soloist box and I just clicked
continue. It played the first tune and muted the rest of the tunes.

I went into the directory change window again and unchecked generate soloist, but checked auto-generate soloist
and tried that. It worked perfectly. So the problem was the generate soloist box being checked.

If someone else has my problem, perhaps they will see my solution and it works for them.
Jacxon,

Welcome to the forums and to Band-in-a-Box!

Thank you for taking time to report your findings. Your solution will help everyone in the future that runs across this thread while researching how to use the Jukebox utility without a soloist.

Thanks for taking time to update the thread.
