heres what i do.

open a midi file in bb
add bb style
open sequencer on melody track option.
all midi tracks show on separate channels.
then i kinda do a few edits hear and there to the real tracks.

save as and saves as mgx file?.

open mgx file in real band.
all real tracks and style open as they should
but the midi tracks are all on the same track and i dont know how to get them on to individual tracks.
the original midi is type 1 and does show different tracks whilst in bb.
can anyone help with information how to split the tracks.

I think if you open the midi in RealBAnd to start with you'll get the chance to open as separate midi tracks. then you can do anything you wanted in BIAB in RB and proceed as normal.

Edit > MIDI > Extract channels to tracks

pipeline is right - i've never had the problem but just tried to recreate it. use the edit menu in RB as he suggests if you are already a way down the line with your BIAB file and want to separate the tracks.
however, if you open a midi in RB you get separate tracks to start with as well as the BIAB functionality to add real tracks. i'm assuming you are starting from a midi file you got complete and are just adding realtracks in BIAB which is just as easy in RB

tried the extract to channels previously but didnt work.

i have now realised what was happening.

when i opened mgx file in realband ,it was placing the midi tracks on the bb melody track in realband.

i copied this track to a new midi track and it copied all the tracks to separate midi tracks.

so im sorted now.
