I found this video on YouTube:
"Band-in-a-Box generates melodies & chords"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Los82-EFnww

Using the video instructions, I created my own file using simple chord changes (I to IV to V etc).
I managed to generate a melody.
(Unfortunately I can't post a screenshot).

I'm wondering if I can get BIAB Melodist to generate blues licks or pentatonic scales.
I'm wondering if you've ever used it to create solos or improvisation breaks?
Any thoughts?

I have found that using the Melodist to create an entire song not to be very successful, it seams to just ramble on. BUT I have used it to find a phrase or two and created a song out of them. YMMV

g'day mate.
i use the melodist in many ways.
you must EXPERIMENT. and try various settings.
i use it to generate song ideas, fills useing different patches, and mucking around generally lol.

read in the biab HELP how to use it to the fullest.
just enter in help "melodist". lots of info.
lots of uses. also search pg for vids/faq's etc.

ps remember you can playalong on your pc keyboard to also get
ideas and record melodies etc etc.

best to you mate.

Hi Harry.

From what you're saying, it's likely that the Soloist will fit better for your needs than the Melodist. Have a look at the PG Music video clip below to gain some insight into this feature.
