Hi. Struggling to setup my audio to route incoming audio generated by my Yamaha MOX6 synth through BIAB to speakers.

QUESTION: Is BIAB able to accept audio in from an external synth's sound engine triggered by BIAB's MIDI tracks?

A PG Music signal routing diagram seems to indicate signal routing is a one-way path from MIDI signal to Speaker.

Is this the situation?

If not, and BIAB is able to accept an external source's audio in, then how do I set it up?

A bit of background as well as setup screenshots below. Cheers and thanks for considering...

BACKGROUND
- Successful in setting up my DAW (Cubase Pro 11) and Yamaha Synths (MOX6, Tyros5) to route the signal from a Cubase Midi Track ( Midi Out)->Yamaha Synth Engine (Midi In, Audio Out)->Cubase Audio Track (Audio In, Audio Out)->Speakers.
- Successful in setting up BIAB to send BIAB MIDI Track events to Yamaha Synth; I can hear the BIAB mix if I turn the synth's "Direct Monitor Switch=On"
- Unsuccessful in setting up BIAB to receive the Audio signal sent by Yamaha's 4in/2out audio interface; I am unable to hear the BIAB mix if I turn the synth's "Direct Monitor Switch=Off"

SETUP
COMPUTER
- Windows 10 (Latest Updates)
- Yamaha USB Audio/Midi 2.04 Driver (latest version, re-installed)

- Mode=Song (Mixing)
Hi Mike,

First, thank you for your well thought out question and all the background information you provided.

Many audio programs have an "echo" feature that duplicates audio entering a track and mixes the duplicated audio into the program's audio output. That lets the user hear audio entering the program in addition to whatever audio is generated inside the program. Band-in-a-Box lacks this "echo" feature.

Band-in-a-Box relies on the audio interface having a "Direct Monitor" or some other zero latency feature where audio entering the computer and audio leaving the computer are mixed together in the interface and the combined signal is heard through the audio interface main out or headphone jack.
Hi Jim, thank you very much for your feedback!

So, I assume this means that I need to transfer a BiaB MIDI track - using an external synth/sound module's 'sound' such as a Tyros 5 S.Art2 saxophone - to a DAW in order to render to an audio track, right?

Thanks again, Jim.
