Well this is interesting.

Type in a few bars (say eight) with chords ending with “..bpdg.”
Assuming there is some instrument on the “Strings” track.
This happened with a RT song but I assume it will happen with Midi too.

Click [Play]. BiaB will only play the Bass, Piano, Drums and Guitar. So far, so good.

Now click the [Intro] button and (Re)Generate chords for a four-bar Intro.

The Holds in the chords for the first four bars in the song (for me anyway) disappear.

If this works as designed (intended) I’m sorry I don’t get it.
I didn’t ask BiaB to get rid of the chords that I typed in.

If there is a way to prevent the program from doing this it would be nice to know.
Thanks.

The automatic Intro does indeed insert its own everything into the slot and that means it will indeed overwrite your chords. "Your chords" include any Shots and Holds you may have already entered.

That is indeed by design and working as intended.

Sorry, Mac, maybe I wasn't clear.

No, it doesn't overwrite.

[Intro]will insert four new measures and labels the first cell as "1a" and draws a line.
What used to be "1a" is now "5a."
And the chords at 5a have now changed.

I'm failing to see how inserting four new measures should change what gets pushed down.
The chords in the chorus should remain as they are.

Oh.

I think they should stick then, also.

Just for the sake of experiment, try using the Insert Bars command, insert 4 bars at the beginning, then see if the shots and holds etc. stick.

No, plain old inserting seems to be ok.

Then a workaroudn might be to Insert the number of bars first and then try to put the Intro into that space.

Sounds like you may have found a bug.

If it can be duplicated.
