Exeption EFCreateError in module RealBand.exe at 000C1F76.
Cannot create file D:\Music\2020\Data\BootupLog.txt.
The specified path could not be found.
All previous versions have worked fine, but now (2021) clicking on the seq file will bring up that error message. And windows 10 doesn't give you the option to search for a program to open. For some reason, BB opens the file in 32 bits.
If I open first BB and RB, then is no problem.

Firstly, Welcome to the forums.
Presumably you have just installed a new version (2021) of BiaB and RealBand.
Did you install in the recommended default locations x:\bb\ and x:\RealBand\ ?
Are you using the application called RealBand64 or RealBand? The RealBand 2021 version is called RealBand64 and is 64 bit only. The one that is called just RealBand is the 2020 version, or earlier, and is 32 bit only.
It sounds like you are trying to double-click on a .SEQ file and have it open in RealBand 2021.
Right-click on a .SEQ file, and in the Properties dialog beside 'Opens With', click the [Change] button. Then, More apps --> choose another app, and browse for the file RealBand64.exe in your RealBand folder. Perhaps it was trying to run RealBand from an incomplete/older folder.
yes, I think too, that its try to open old (2020) version, but what to do?
If I try to douple click there is Realband (32?), but I can't change it. Is it windows 10 problem. previous versions work well, so i wonder, i have tried to reinstall many times. I even removed Realband (32 bit), but it had to be moved back. I don’t understand what miracle I could do. I will be really grateful if I get advice!
yes I try to use RB64, when I try to open the SEQ file, it apparently tries to open the old 32 version, but I have no way to change it. if you double-click SEQ, then only Realband (32) and Search Microsoft. I can't select RB64 not found in windows 10 settings apps (BB found)
Hmm, did you do this?:
"Right-click on a .SEQ file, and in the Properties dialog beside 'Opens With', click the [Change] button. Then, More apps --> choose another app, and browse for the file RealBand64.exe in your RealBand folder."
it would be easy, but opens with allows only RealBand (32) and search the application from Microsoft!
You need to click "more apps", then scroll to the bottom, and then click "look for another app". You should be able to choose any .exe.
I installed the 2020 version and it worked just fine, but when i reinstalled realband86, again it doesn't work. links to error messages that show that windows 10 does not allow you to search for realband64.exe.
https://ahtinikkonen.fi/1.jpghttps://ahtinikkonen.fi/2.jpghttps://ahtinikkonen.fi/3.jpgThe application list does not contain realband64.exe but realband.exe
Are you sure it's Realband86.exe? That's an unusual name. I would have thought that it's more likely to be Realband.exe (as you mention) and Realband64.exe.
Realband.exe is the 32-bit application
Realband64.exe is the 64-bit application.
Either one should start Realband for you.
of course Realband64.exe
Yes I can open both, but if I try to open SEQ file, it will not open. If I open first Realband and then seq file there is no problem. Before Realband64.exe (2021) no problem. Maybe I must wait 2022, if then everything's gonna be okay...

There is a bug in Windows itself that causes this, I found it on this Windows forum:
https://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/88795-look-another-app-pc-disappeared.html#post1078735Basically, try clicking in the empty space immediately below where it says Loop For An App In The Microsoft Store - that should give you the ability to find another app.
THANK YOU! nor would I have guessed in any way to take advantage of those empty spaces. From there, I finally got Realband64.exe exchanged. I have to say you are a pretty skilled Windows connoisseur. It’s really great to have experts here in the forum! greetings from Finland! I had already lost hope ...

You're very welcome jeahje, glad to help! That one would've stumped me for sure, thankfully a little Googling about "Look for more apps" brought up that forum I linked.

Simon, your screen shots were very effective. How did you acquire screen shots for both the pop up window with the blank error and the pop up window with the correct message?

I can't speak for Simon but I use print screen, then I paste that print screen into paint or one of my photograph programs.

To be honest, I got a screenshot of the window with the correct message, loaded it into Paint, and deleted that area...
Hey, it worked!
