I avoided the notation entry feature in BiaB for a long while, mainly using MuseScore for composition of melody. I spent some time on the BiaB notation view because I wanted to have all the elements in one piece of software. So I got used to this entry method on the Melody track and found it reasonably good.

I've just tried to enter notes the same on the Soloist track and this has been a disaster. I found that often the notes don't entry properly but, worst still, also that Ctrl Z does not reverse the most recent entry and nor dose selecting undo from the edit menu. If I switch back to the melody track then all works as specified in the manual.

I have updated to the latest version but no change.

Any ideas please?
I have not had any difficulty entering notation on the Soloist track in the same way as on the Melody track, but I haven’t tried it on the very latest build (I assume you mean 845). So I could verify, can you be more specific about ‘don’t enter properly’?

Also I will check the Undo.

Did you first try Options, Return to Factory Settings, Most?

Yes, it is 845.

By 'entered properly, I mean the manner in which notes are expected to be entered in the Notation view (in editable mode) I select the first 16th of the first beat and then complete the bar according to the melody.

If I now select the Soloist track and enter my note in the first sixteenth again, I am unable to reverse this using Ctrl-Z or 'Undo Insert Note', these operations are completely ignored. Well that's not strictly true, when I Ctl-Z in the Soloist it does not. I can select the note and delete it though. Interestingly, if I Ctl-Z in the soloist, even though it does not reverse the operation, if I now go to Edit, I am told that there is no note to delete.
We checked and "ctrl + Z" indeed does not work for notes entered in the notation window of the Soloist track. We checked the other tracks as well, and it appears that only the Melody track listens to an "undo" command for entering notes. We will report this to the development team.
